It is well known that Season Two has shed a dark cloud on fan-coupling Nigel/Abby, with the two kids seperating from each other and Lizzie's absolute refusal to disappear from Nigel's life. Since Waburton has decided to take his series in this direction, I will now ask what stance 1/5 fans intend to take. Will you accept defeat and give up the ship, perhaps converting to one of the more more canon couples? (3/4 and 1/L) Or will you hold on to your favorite pairing, writing fanfics that kick Lizzie from the picture?
Either way has its merits. Let's hear which way you'll choose.

It's as you and me both once said... it's a completely
valid option to overlook canon and preferring to go
with your own vision in fanfics. That's what makes
fan-tales unique. So I wouldn't be surprised if
we all just continued to kick Lizzie from the picture.
So far, none of my fanfics (save for a few) even
acknowledge that Lizzie exists, and I prefer to
keep it that way... I don't hate the character, but
I feel her presence is just extra baggage that really
does nothing but bog down my own stories (especially
since I rarely ever write a pure romance tale to
begin with).

Its not your decission who Nigel ends up with.
For god sakes their 10-years old! Someone you "Date" when your 10 isnt going to be the person you marry.
The whole coupling thing is driving me out of my mind.
Nigel/Lizzie
Wally/Kuki
Period. Drop it.
Im not saying things dont change- They most certinly can change. But I hate the way people leave out Lizzie in fanfics! A real good fanfic would have her in it- but still find a away around her. Such as Nigel breaking up with her or somthing. You cant just throw her out of the picture.
Cant we just sit back and enjoy the show?

First off, what's the difference between saying Nigel broke up with her and simply saying she never existed? Both achieve the same effect, and the difference is usually nothing more than one line of dialogue. So really I don't see why it's even that big a deal. Even when the author just assumes Lizzie never existed, the fanfic readercould just as easily ASSUME Nigel and Lizzie broke up--it's not like it has to be expressly stated to be true. Secondly Jess, the only one in a bad mood here is you. You seem to get mad if anyone even wants to discuss non-canonical couplings. Love, look at what board this is on. KND ROMANCE, a board MADE to discuss various couplings, including non-canon
ones. After all, there's only so many threads you can make about how cute Wally and Kuki are. What that means is if you can't learn a thing called tolerance, then you have no business reading KND Romance. |

Hmm... I'm not sure. I DO like the Nigel/Abby pairing. However, I'm not really concentrating on that throughout my fanfic writing.

Well, this subject is always controversial, and everyone has a right to thier opinion, you know. Mine is that 1/5 would be cute, but I can't really see any proof of it in the show.

Have to agree with that. Remember YearOfTheCat from FF.net? YearOfTheCat apparently supports 1/L, 2/3 and the other two paired off with original characters. Other than the pairings, the stories are really good so it doesn't really matter that much that the pairings aren't as popular... other than, in this board perhaps, 1/L. (Admittedly bizarro does a great job of putting them together.) |

(Admittedly bizarro does a great job of putting them together.) Um, sorry, but YOTC's fics weren't that great, IMO. His only moderate or good one was that one story with Lizzie in it. And you know what sucks? That romance always seems to be some (read: some) peoples' top priority over everything else on this show, including action, humor, and a bit of drama... All of which what made the show so great to me. Sure, romance can be cute, but it shouldn't be the *only* thing that matters. Edit: me edit post to sound a bit nicer |

well even though there arn't as much things going on between 1/5 as there is with 3/4 I am going to hang on to 1/5 because I do see some things that could lead to the couple happening NOT alot of stuff but there is some there. (incase you don't know already I am the BIGGEST 1/5 fan in the UNIVERSE!!!!!!!!

(incase you don't know already I am the BIGGEST 1/5 fan in the UNIVERSE!!!!!!!! One thing a lot of people forget.... KND is an AMERICAN production. That means that any romance is going to be only hinted at (sometimes strongly, such as in the case of Wally and Kuki) but not entirely definite. |
