And you know what sucks? That romance always seems to be some (read: some) peoples' top priority over everything else on this show, including action, humor, and a bit of drama... All of which what made the show so great to me. Sure, romance can be cute, but it shouldn't be the *only* thing that matters. I love you Numbuh Infinity. Couldnt put it more perfectly myself!

I had a dream last night. No seriously.. I dream every night about one thig or another . . . but this dream truely stuck out.
It was KND mixed with other random things going on in my head at the time . . . dreams most of the times dont make sense, so I couldnt tell you what it was about . . . but it did center on the fight Nigel and Abby had in Operation: College. . .but the episode ended at the beach with Nigel and Abby walking down the beach holding hands. It was one of those dreams that was so real... I thought it actually happened when I woke up and I kid you not.. I poped in the DVD cause I didnt remember myself getting screen grabs of them holding hands.. and then I rememberd it wasnt real. I swear... It was freaky.. . a sign maybe? Or possibly Im just nuts.

As I said on AIM, my guess is that seeing the scene in the episode of them arguing produced subconscious wishful thinking. And as we all know, dreams come from your subconscious (well... at first they may be inspired by conscious thought, but after you're into deep sleep...) Once more though, this must mean that very little, if anything, is going on in my own subconscious. Sigh...I used to have really vivid dreams like that though. Once, I was so obsessed with a computer game called Daggerfall (of which the recent hit Morrowind is it's sequel) that I went to sleep and, when I woke up, I was surprised to find myself right in my room where I should be--I had actually convinced myself I was in an Inn or something!

One thing a lot of people forget.... KND is an AMERICAN production. That means that any romance is going to be only hinted at (sometimes strongly, such as in the case of Wally and Kuki) but not entirely definite. What does the fact that KND is a U.S. production have to do with anything? Contrary to popular belief, neither childen nor TV executives are that prudish when it comes to romance. Many cartoons have succeeded with romantic subplots, like superhero dramas Spiderman and Batman. Nicktoons in particular are known for creating complex love stories within their programs. ("Hey Arnold's" plot revolves almost ENTIRELY around romance) It's true that Waburton may not any serious romance with his characters. (then again, maybe he will) But I don't think the show's national origin is as much of a factor as you think. So...um...nyah.

I had a KND dream too. I don't remember much of it, but it has something to do with the Cree element that's developing ovewr the course of Season II. In my dream, the plot element seemed to be coming to a head, as it was very dominent throughout. Most interesting was the fact that Cree's (Abby's) mother was coming to her daughters rescue, wearing B.R.A.-like samurai armor, and wielding an ornate katana.

("Hey Arnold's" plot revolves almost ENTIRELY around romance) I'll agree that children aren't prudish about romance--I have a ten year old cousin who'se favorite show is Ranma 1/2--and it's true that not ALL execs are prudish . It's not necessarily about being prudish, however, but rather about the need for open-endedness. Most US-produced cartoons are meant to keep running as long as possible, so they avoid permanent series fixtures that have to be worked into the overall continuity, allowing for more adventures to be more easily scripted. This is why He-Man and Teela never hit it off. On the other hand though, you may be right, as KND has broken the mold more than once, that and unlike most US shows we all know it's going to end in season four.

What is the statement that season 4 is the last based on - fact, likelihood (most shows do have a limited run, after which they end) or chronological ssumption? If the assumed reason for Season 4 being the last is that they will be 13 years old and decomissioned from the KND (they started off at 10 years old in Season 1), that's not necessarily so. For example, by the the X-Men comic book had been running for 25 years, only 9 years of time had actually passed in the X-Men universe since Xavier created the X-Men. This was a stated fact in one of the comic book storylines. This is because, of course, although the comic books were in monthly instalments, they were portraying events that were taking place over mere hours/days/weeks. Just 'cause you had to wait 30 days to see what happened next, it don't mean Cyclops and co sat around eating Doritos for 30 days and then carried on what they had been doing! My point? Well, KND Season 3 is set after the summer (which, according to the Series 3 press release from Curious Pictures, is when the events of Seasons 1-2 took place), when the kids have to return to school, so presumably the timescale of Season 3 is only a couple of months on from Season 2 and most of the KND will still be 11 years old, not 12. If Season 4 follows a similar timescale then may may make a further guess that the KND will be about 12, and so enabling a Season 5 to me made (assuming Tom & co would want to do another season and that the network ratings would still be strong enough for Cartoon Network to be interested in taking it up). Whew, that's a lot of assumptions ... !

You guys . . . . they are still storyboreding Season 3. My god, calm down. I dont even think Tom himself knows whats going to happen season 4 wise. And Season 2 isnt done yet. Slow down and enjoy the show. You dont want everything to be over too fast because then you have nothing left.

Try the stated word of Tom himself. And welcome to the board. I dun believe that either. Its too popular of a show to end with only four seasons. Think about it. Its only been running for exactly a year and there have been two seasons- meaning Season Four would be over by the end of 2004 also meaning the show would only be running for two years . . . . :: Blinks :: Cartoon Network is not gonna can it after only two years, people. Look at the PowerPuffGirls! They're on season what? eight? Running for. . 4 years? 5 maybe? I dun think KND is goin anywhere for a while and when it does go, I bet a movie will finish it up.

Hmm... I'm not sure. I DO like the Nigel/Abby pairing. However, I'm not really concentrating on that throughout my fanfic writing. However, in Operation: H.A.L.O., there's 1/5 moments somewhere. I'm not, under any circumstances, saying where it will take place. It will continue in H.A.L.O.-T.W.O.
