*sniff* INTERVIEWS was so epic. Oh, and yay. Mr. Warburton's favourite episode is a Hoagie one!

Yep! There were a a few Hoagie eps. Made the INTERVIEWS wait go quicker!
I'm still surprised that HIS all-time favorite ep is MY all-time favorite!
@cap'n
I'm also annoyed with how CN spread out Season 6, but at least they gave the show a nice send-off. Other, lesser-watched shows didn't even get a marathon, or a proper ending...

Eh, INTERVIEWS wasn't bad. Not fantastic, but not bad. Better than I expected.
Now I can go back to my OWN fandom. Mark me now, for one day everyone will stampede to the bookstore to own a copy of Surviving Maitown!

While I'm a little concerned about the CG Father thing, I'm looking forward to INTERVIEWS a bit more now that quite a lot seem to agree that it wasn't as bad as expected.
Besides that, I think it's hillarious that Wally went to Harvard.

I was like "What the crap?" after I heard he went to Harvard. I mean, how on earth could he suddenly become smart enough? Maybe decomissioning him did it XD.

I still think he was never actulaly dumb. Remember season 1? He just put in no effort.
So, maybe he got a sports scholarship, then realized he has a useable brain, then used it.

What kind of psycho teacher gives homework over winter break? College teachers from the UK. That's what kind. It's weird, because we have 2 semesters a year. First semester is from September to January (so now I'm on my real break) and second semester is from Feburary to May. Then we get a super long summer break. I'm in my second year now, I'm starting to get used to it... unfortunately. My college operates on similar principles, only there are no breaks. There's the time you have to attend class (which is, of course, compulsory) and then there's exam time when you don't have to attend but do have to study for varying psychotic exams[1]. Now by expenditure of amounts of effort verging on the farcical you can finish all your exams in the first round of examinations (there's a lot of such rounds...two in wintertime, one in springtime three in the summer and two to four in the autumn depending upon the phases of the moon and varying other occult factors) for each semester and have a bit of free time (~two weeks in the winter and a GLORIOUS three months in the summer). Only the seriously masochistic try this since it entails months of basically no sleep (certainly no life!) and living on a vile mixture of caffeine and your own nerves. Needless to say, that's my approach. I don't actually like pain but we seem to have developed a good working relationship. ;D The only reason I'm posting here now is because if I see another screenful of equations or disturbingly opaque MIPS assembly code I'll start taking hostages. Oh, and, uh, hi. I'm sort of back. Only not really since I'll probably retain a very, ah, glacial posting schedule. You do remember me, right? ...right? [1] What does psychotic mean? Well, you have 600 pages of material, two days to study and you need 96%+ (not graded on a curve) for an A. We actually have a subject where only 3% of the enrolled actually pass (Mathematical Analysis I in case anyone's keeping score). Fun fun fun.

Good to see you back! And I can see why you've been so busy. Hmm... psychotic exams... first time I've heard that one, yet the phrase seems to make perfect sense.

Hey, 0xFF. Looks like INTERVIEWS really DID pull people from the woodwork.
Welp, the bad news today is that my first class is REALLY boring. That, or I need to have breakfast later on Mondays and Wednesdays since class doesn't start until 10.
The good news is my lineart looks spiffy and thin in print, all the tones work so I can pick whichever I want, the font I used can be a bit smaller, and I have lunch planned with a friend in half an hour.
We'll see what happens after noon.

So, when one wants to go about making comics/manga, do ya just send it to a publisher and hope for the best? I've been kinda interested in the field, myself.

@ng
Well, the word 'psychotic' can be usefully applied to many things in my college. Exams, schedules (I think setting up classes so you have to get up at 05:00 AM falls under the "cruel&unusual" clause), teachers and, yes, students.
@cap'n
If my art-studying friend is anything to go by, trying your hand at various comic competitions and such is both gainful and will get you contacts. I don't know if comic publishers take "unsolicited manuscripts" as the book publishers do but I imagine it might be the case. I do know you need to make a large portfolio since everyone that might want to hire you will require a lot of samples of your work. He, for instance, carries his drawings in a bag roughly the shape and size of an field artillery piece ('course he draws more than most people breathe so it might be a bit of an anomaly).
@suki
I've out of touch with forum events, what precisely is "Surviving Maitown" and how will it help you rule the world?
@re: woodwork
I protest! I am not nor have I ever been a member of the woodwork party.

@cv:
Tokyopop is really good for aspiring mangaka. They have an annual contest, the Rising Stars of Manga, and the 10 winners get to pitch an book idea. Barring that, there's always Viz, Darkhorse, and self-publishing.
I'm gonna be treating my comic like a small business. Part of the reason why I'm taking a Small Business Startup and Strategy course for my Capstone.
@0xff
Surviving Maitown is my horror movie parody comic, which I'm gonna work on right after I read the first chapters in all 5 of my textbooks. I'm almost finished with the 3-page opening, then I need to start on the first actual issue.
I now answer to the title Horror Princess.

I saw it.
I saw INTERVIEWS.
Whoa.
After preparing myself that it wouldn't be anything special, I was pleasantly surprised and loved it. I won't repeat everything I just posted on the actual INTERVIEWS thread, but I'm happy now that I've seen it and wasn't disappointed.
