Oh god, haven't had a smoothie in so long. *virtual sip of smoothie* Yeah, everyone's been real slow to post. Summer vacations (and, in Suki's case, summer school) and whatnot. @random story- OK, so while I was in Hawaii, there was this story we were told. You shouldn't take black lava rocks from Hawaii. (Any other rock, like dead coral, is fine) Apparantley the goddess Pele would get angry or something cause the lava rock is part of her... Basically, if you take a black lava rock, you get bad luck. I didn't believe it, since it's just superstition, but apparantley, many people take the black lava rocks, and the Hawaiin post office receives hundreds of pounds of lava rocks each year with letters telling them that they've been having extrememly bad luck, and are sure it's because of the lava rocks. So one day I was swimming in a little tidepool area. And I saw this rock, it was really cool. It was a lava rock, so it was black. But it also had some coral growing on it, so it had some pink. Now you just don't find that in Philly, and it was so pretty, I had to bring home as a souveneir. But our trip guide warned me, again. "You'll get back luck". And one of the counselors on the trip(It was a group of students and counselors on the trip, no parents... ) asked me, "Well, are you superstitious?" I very frankly said "No." and proceeded to putting my rock in my backpack. But then my counselor replied, "Well, guess what? You're counselor is superstitious and she's not going to be letting you on the plane ride back with that thing." I grumbled and threw it back. The next day sunscreen spilled in my backpack. And I tripped a lot. If I had taken the black lava rock, people would have said that it was the lava rock that cause the bad luck. But really, it was just my clumsyness and the fact that sunscreen bottles tend to explode when they're full and put at the bottom of my backpack with a bunch of crap on top and in a lot of heat...

@getting past thread 11 There was a point when I thought we'd never get to this thread. Everyone's been busy with school, exams, life, etc. Which is understandable, because I'll be back in school once September comes. I'll only be taking one course (I have to get down to the academic planning office this month), but whatever it is, I'll be doing a LOT of studying. @superstitions Everyone's superstitious to a degree, but that black rocks superstition is the brain playing tricks on people. You subconsciously think bad things are going to happen...and they do. You make it happen, not the rock.

@cap'n Veg's story/superstitions- *tries not to make a Brady Bunch reference... can't...* TIKI IDOL! *cough* sorry. I'm not superstitious... Like at all. And because I'm a terrible person, I go out of my way to do the bad superstitious things in front of the superstitious people. I'm mean.

@pele
I'm not superstitious, but I try not to underestimate the power of other gods. (None before God, but they never said others didn't exist.)
So yeah, it was probably a really good idea for you NOT to take it.

@madame-
Well, at this rate, I think we'll possibly make it to thread XIII, but barely. But I doubt we'll make it to XIV ever. The show is ending soon and the forums are already slowing down. (remember when there were 5 posts every second when ZERO premiered? Good times, good times *la-la land*)
@suki-
I'm an athiest, so that doesn't really apply to me. eheh.

This is the 13th thread. Should we be worried? ^^
I think the romance threads have been going slow because some people may be on vacation, or are having summer jobs.

@summer jobs-
My summer job is getting up at 6:30 and helping these two kids get ready for camp.
The kids make my life a living hell, but it's only for 2 hours. And then I get the whole day to myself to chillax. And I get paid a lot(like more than minimum wage a lot, and it's all tax free cause it's babysitting)
Not exactley a time consumer, yeah?
@the 13th thread-
Wow, I unknowingly talked about stuperstitions and bad luck on our 13th thread. *gasp* coincidence? *eyetwitch*
Edit: .... It's the 12th thread...
