I see your point, I agree that I wouldn't mind seeing the same thing happen with 2/5.

I think the show is basically friendship. Especially because they are only 9-12 years old and not many 9-12 year olds fall in love. Even Nigel and Lizzie arnt in love but going out(like they are in the 'first couple stage' because it's exciting and new) and yes people 3 and 4 are probably not in love. It's just a crush. I like little romance hints in the show but this show isnt about romance at all. its about kids fighting adults so for this show its more about the friendship than romance as we go into another of my fandoms It's all about romance. but thats basically the whole point of the show. It's 80% romance and 20 percentsex and Im really into it. and the show i am talking about here (qaf) has made me believe in love at first sight a little more... But then in the fandom the chracters are in love,(and its all slash btw;)) and have big drama soapish problems(Like Justin meeting brian for the first time yuumm now that is love.) so to sum it up KND-friendship QAF-romance

Friendship! (Friendship, again?)
Now I'm gonna take an opposite view here... maybe I've just spent too much time with the fandom, but it seems to me that in KND, no one interacts unless there's a potential for romance. We see Hoagie and Abby argue alot, or Abby and Nigel. But how often do you see Abby having a conversation with, say, Kuki?
Or, for that matter, it's honestly kind of disenheartening that the KND operatives seem to prefer going to their rooms and being alone to hanging out with each other.
That scene in Operation: LIZZIE where Hoagie just, out of nowhere, tagged Wally and declared "you're it!" and they started chasing each other around... that's the kind of thing that would draw me back into this show if it happened more often. But more and more often, it's gotten to the point where Abby will only talk to Hoagie (obviously to give the impression that she likes him), or Kuki will only talk to or about Wally (for obvious reasons), and the only indication that Wally and Hoagie are friends anymore is that they still go on missions together, which is weak.
Frankly, KND doesn't need romance. Too much stigma, too little time.

We see Hoagie and Abby argue alot, or Abby and Nigel. But how often do you see Abby having a conversation with, say, Kuki? Well, I would point out HOME, but your right. That's practically the very first episode they ever interacted. Um.. plus MACARONI for a little, and GHOSH for a little more. Awness! Well its not always like that. Sometimes they just need some time alone to think about their situations. Other times they just need to be with somebody for comfort. You took the thoughts right out of my head. I totally agree with you. When I saw that part, I thought, "Aw! 2/4 friendship!" I like friendship almost just as much as romance. Just as long as I see interaction between the characters, and not just action and missions. If it weren't for the bonding between characters, I'd have stopped watching this show years ago. *remains's silent* ;D I think I'm sensing a little more romance to come in Season 6. *wink wink nudge nudge*

Okay, now I have to ask, why do you keep saying "wink wink nudge nudge"?

Yea, I'm afraid I still don't get the "Wink wink nudge nudge" thing, at least not in the context of this topic.
I wish that were true, but when we see them together, they're either on a mission, or lounging.
LIZZIE may have had the only real friendship moment in the series, but it also points out several of the problems I mentioned.... Kuki and Abby are sitting on a sofa together, and what are they doing? Reading. Magazines. Are they discussing the magazines or showing them to each other? Nope, they're just reading them.
And when Numbuh One gives them the day off in Operation: CANNON, what's the first thing they do? They take naps.
Really, these kids social lives would be about the same if they lived in seperate basements or something...

I have to admit, the *wink wink nudge nudge* sometimes gets to me, if only because the refference that the KND episode itself is reffering too (from Monty Python) is actually sexual in nature. >XPPP Sort of ironic considering this thread.
