*drums his fingers impatiently at this thread* I know right? This thread made sense got a while. Until we began to get into reality. *wink wink nudge nudge* What happened to the KND?

And as I mentioned, crime rates. Almost every gang member was some kid who was an accidental birth from a mother who got too wild one night and thought birth control would solve all her problems. And of course, these gang members get involved in crimes and the drug trade. Clearly birth control didn't solve her problems. Since, y'know, if she'd used it she wouldn't have the child. The only argument I see here is for making BC more universally available... which is why yeah, we're gonna laugh. 'cause your "solution" is silly. XD ANYWAY I think this thread's gotten off-topic enough. So... I'm bowing out, at least. To go giggle some more. >XD

Why else would you have sex? For entertainment? If you want entertainment, go watch a movie or hang out at the mall with friends or something. Do you think its a sign of true love? Get married, and then have sex. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Okay, so I can't say that I, personally, think having sex is the number one thing to do on a saturday night, but seriously... And is sex a sign of true love? No, but it's especially fun to do it with someone you really like. =_=; Nevermind. I'm laughing too hard to finish responding to this. And as I mentioned, crime rates. Almost every gang member was some kid who was an accidental birth from a mother who got too wild one night and thought birth control would solve all her problems. And of course, these gang members get involved in crimes and the drug trade. For the sake of my own sanity, I'm going to pretend this is a joke. Since I live in NYC, I feel I should comment on the ridiculous NYC = SLUM point: I seem to recall reading recently that New Yorker were known to ignore cries for help from people who were injured or dying right in front of them, in situations where it would be all too easy to go to the nearest payphone (or, nowadays, simply use a cellphone). Unless that's changed too, New York is still what I'd call a "slum." Er, no, that's called human nature. When surrounded by so many people, one starts to become indifferent. And yes, there ARE some sketchy places in the city. Some. Some. As in ALL cities/towns/etc. Does this make the whole city unfit to live in? Certainly not. New York is one of the world's most successful cities. I don't even understand what could possibly make you think it's a slum. Oh, oh, wait. Some people are immoral. EVIL EVIL NYC IS A SLUM. I am SO sad for you. And now I'm ducking out. This is ridiculous and I really don't care to discuss this anymore. The novelty has worn off. And it's terribly off-topic.

What about discussing what KND couples we think so go out and what KND couples should just be friends?

Well, I'll try too.
So far, I would say I'd prefer to see everyone else besides Nigel/Lizzie as friends, rather than going out romantically. I'm not sure pairings like Hoagie/Abby would be the same if they were dating.

Yeah, it might be a bit weird to see them going out at first, except maybe 3/4.

Yeah, it might be a bit weird to see them going out at first, except maybe 3/4. if we're getting back on topic I might as well stay -- I don't think 3/4 actually dating would threaten their dynamic in the same way some of the others dating might. the 3/4 romantic vibe has been around since pretty much second season, and they've never had a lot of non-romantic interaction that was very friendshippy. so I wouldn't mind them dating. Abby/Hoagie I love but only if it's a very mellow relationship - sort of friends++, instead of "omg super romantic flowers and passionate embraces and heartfelt confessions" type of thing. I love pairings where it's really clear that the two people are friends, and the romance is just extra. most the other pairings that turn friends into lovers? meeh, they don't do it as much for me. mostly because fanon tends to make those pairings VERY 'heartfelt confessions and savior complexes' and not so much 'hey you want to go to the movies and maybe make out afterwards?' darn, and I thought I'd killed that urge to bring realism into the knd world. oops. XD

I missed all this...but anyway. Just going to throw in my 2 cents, since I'm old ;D and have been through a lot of "romantic" nonsense. Dating in HS and college was mostly for fun. I wasn't ready to settle down. I didn't do the nasty, either--my choice. I didn't want to get tied down to some jerk, I didn't want to give my heart to some jerk, and because of some of my issues, I got involved with jerks. God, what a parade of LOSERS. Anyway. Met husband in my mid 20s. Got married at 27. Did the sex for fun, sex for babies, birth control, yadda yadda. There's nothing wrong with sex for fun...I wouldn't do that with just anyone, I'd have to be deeply involved, but that's me. Sex isn't a sign of true love, no sir. Hubs and I still do it, and the marriage has hit a rough patch, to put it mildly. True love, to me, is a great friendship and having a lot in common. Sex? Pfffffffffffft. It's fun, but I could do without it. Back on topic... This show, except for all the 3/4 hints, doesn't go overboard with the mushy hearts 'n flowers junk. Even Nigel/Lizzie isn't all over the place. I like that. I'd hate to see Hoagie/Abby lose the rapport they have now if they started dating, but I don't think that would happen. If it became canon, i think ti would be kept low-key.

Just going to throw in my 2 cents, since I'm old ;D and have been through a lot of "romantic" nonsense. *gasp!* You.. No, I'm totally kidding. ;D It can sometimes get out of hand with the romance, and I admit I'm the one that makes too much of the interaction between KND characters. But its just a way to entertain myself, that's all. I know what you mean. Its a crucial world out there. Sometimes its best to stay away from the whole "dating" thing until you get all the school work out of the way, and fully dedicated to finding the perfect man/woman. Oh my gosh, you and me.. similar people! I'm sick of watching Montel or Dr. Phil and seeing "Young 15-year-old girl gets pregnant." Like, what is that? That's just me though.. *worships the words of this bright KND fan* See, thats the thing. We're so in love with these couples (Well.. me, anyway..) and meanwhile, we think it would be weird if they became canon. You're right. Its nice to see the relationship build up. But for me? Speaking as a 1/5 fan, I'd prefer that the two of them became canon like in the last episode or something. If there were more seasons after they come together (if they come together.. ) then that would be totally weird for me.
