"Random Statement Alert" New York is my kind of city to live in. I'm a city person, and when I get older I will move to Manhatten, New York, America. End of "Random Statement Alert". Okay, so on topic. Um.. I've run out of ideas to mention. Ah well, carry on.

It makes me a sad panda when the friendships are automatically perceived as romance by the fandom. Me too. It doesn't really surprise me anymore, since (most) young girls are programmed to have romance on the brain, and most shippers are young girls. But it is kinda sad to wonder if any of these shippers treat REAL relationships the same way they treat their ships.

....are you saying people shouldn't have sex unless they're deliberately trying to have a baby (which apparently they shouldn't because of overpopulation?) Yeppers. Excuse me? New York is certainly not a slum - at least, not anymore. Quite a few years ago, NYC went through a major reform period. I seem to recall reading recently that New Yorker were known to ignore cries for help from people who were injured or dying right in front of them, in situations where it would be all too easy to go to the nearest payphone (or, nowadays, simply use a cellphone). Unless that's changed too, New York is still what I'd call a "slum." What's even worse is the part where any sort of interaction, no matter how innocent or meaningless, is seen as a "sign." Oh my, an apple and a pear are placed next to each other! It's fruit-love!And then the apple says, "I'm glad I'm not a human." And the pear responds, "I'm glad I don't watch TV." (and now there's going to be someone who wants to make Apple and Pear an official, canonical couple -__-) It doesn't really surprise me anymore, since (most) young girls are programmed to have romance on the brain, Actually, I think it's just a symptom of A) complete, utter boredom and B) living in a culture where people think of girls primarily as marriage material.

I didn't read that post yet, but now that I did, I totally agree. Why else would you have sex? For entertainment? If you want entertainment, go watch a movie or hang out at the mall with friends or something. Do you think its a sign of true love? Get married, and then have sex. These are not direct orders. I just don't think we should take advantage of our abilities that God has given us. * everyone boo s* I'm totally serious! But do what you like. It doesn't affect me.

And suppose two people are in love, but never, ever want to have children. Are they not ever supposed to express their love for each other with sex?

Unless that's changed too, New York is still what I'd call a "slum." Because the actions of a few dictate a definition for the whole, obviously. Furthermore, do you have any idea how big the city of new york is? IMO there are admittedly parts of it I'd rather not be in at night, but there are other areas with upscale apartments, clean neighborhoods, or any other "not slummy" things that your little heart desires. Way to stereotype. And suppose two people are in love, but never, ever want to have children. Are they not ever supposed to express their love for each other with sex? *applauds* Furthermore, to extend this to Goldenflither's "Why else would you have sex? For entertainment? If you want entertainment, go watch a movie or hang out at the mall with friends or something. Do you think its a sign of true love? Get married, and then have sex." statement, remember that marriage is a religious institution. Some people don't marry for religious reasons, or social or cultural ones. Or some people aren't allowed to (gay marriage, anyone?). How does the rule apply to a couple who is unable or unwilling to marry? It's their choice with what they want to do with their lives - remember that not everyone lives by your moral standards. ~Regan

How did we get into talking about sex? @sex-I personally think it is just for marriage, but that is just my opinion. And yes, I am pretty conserative.

Not the boy/boy or the girl/girl ones. I know people have the choice. But I'm speaking as a.. as a.. On second thought, lets not get into this. The word "sex" is sending shivers up my spine.

I'm totally serious! But do what you like. It doesn't affect me. Actually, It DOES affect you. It probably already has. Increased competition in the job market is one example, heightened population is another--you've probably heard the usual story of an ancient landmark getting torn down so that more housing projects could be built. And as I mentioned, crime rates. Almost every gang member was some kid who was an accidental birth from a mother who got too wild one night and thought birth control would solve all her problems. And of course, these gang members get involved in crimes and the drug trade. Sure, some people can laugh--just as people always laugh at parts of reality they're too insecure to deal with--and they can try to pretend I'm just quoting some Christian moral. But it isn't about morality, it's about cold, hard practicality that only cares about what's true and what the truth tells us about the way the world is going.

And of course, these gang members get involved in crimes and the drug trade. Generally, no. That comes from people who were TOO STUPID to use birth control. Or the morning after pill or, if they honestly did not want and were not capable of taking care of a child, an abortion.
