I hope this topic isn't too controversial. I'd like your opinions on this. What do you think of male/male or female/female couples? Do you like them? Do you dislike them? Do you write them into fanfiction? Do you read fanfiction with them? If you do like them, which one is your favorite? Do you tend to like m/m better than f/f or the other way around? This board is for people to share their opinions and not to argue over or try to change other people's opinions. Personally, my favorite is Mr. Fibb & Mr. Wink.

Personally, my favorite is Mr. Fibb & Mr. Wink. Well, those two ARE a couple... Personally, I have no problem with them. In fact I tackled this very issue in my fanfic Best-Worst Scenario (the first one). From personal experience, many have told me that they thought the story got a little iffy when it went in Kuki/Abby directions, but they liked the way it worked out (and no, Kuki and Abby didn't become a permanent couple). I personally however wouldn't mind if someone wanted to present a totally male/male or female/female relationship, as long as it didn't become overtly sexual in nature.

I personally like the Hoagie/Wally duo.
They play with each other. They treat each other with respect, despite the fact they are different.

I'd like to say I have no problem with m/m anf f/f relationships, but the truth is yaoi and yuri can ruin a fanfic genre. Though it's possible to write a decent story on anything, A grest deal of slash material ends up being teenybopper mindrot focused only on sex, sex, sex. Have you seen what happened to Kingdom Hearts fanfiction? It's nothing more than a bunch of pretty boys engaging in matters that have NOTHING to do anything in the game.
I have no real problem with homosexuality: people should do whatever they want. However, it does distress me when so many people want to do the same distasteful thing, such as thinking only with their hormones. My advice: keep KND slash to a bare minimum. Let's not turn this good show into something it's not.

Argh, can two men not be friends in a show without everyone accusing them of being gay? Just because they're a little strange dosen't mean they're not straight. (Mr. Fibb seems pretty hetero to me, anyway) EightBitStar, I just hope you know what you're doing. Slash is a dangerous road. and it can end up encouraging a genre to be less than scrupulous.

Argh, can two men not be friends in a show without everyone accusing them of being gay? Stave off using the word "Accuse." You make it sound like being gay is a bad thing. Anyway, all I said was that they're "A couple." I didn't say WHAT they're a couple of ^__^. Which would be...?

Am I the only one who doesn't like to see slash fanfiction or fanart?

Am I the only one who doesn't like to see slash fanfiction or fanart? Oh come on! Kuki/Abby is adorable! ^__^... then again, anything with Kuki is adorable unless it's a Season Two episode.

Yes, I said, "No arguing!" Try not to quote sentences that you disagree with because that probably means you're right about to argue with someone. Also, state things using "In my opinion..." or "Personally, I..." so that they don't sound so strong.
Remember, I said that this board is NOT to ARGUE OVER other people's opinions or to TRY TO CHANGE other people's opinions. Thank you.

If we were arguing, we'd be calling each other names and behaving violently. This is lighthearted disagreement. No need to worry. If things got out of hand, I could fix it.

Don't read so much into things. If you read my other comments, you should know by now that I'm not against homosexuality. I just don't like people being labeled as gay because of the lifestyle they lead. No matter how "fruity" he seems to act, a man is not gay until he persues other men. Encouraging others to start writing, or getting sucked into writing that is less than stelliar. Your writing could influence others to go about the same path, I've already seen a few Nigel/Wallys hanging around, and I'll bet they're probably being written by girls who want to see two guys together at the cost of everything else. When you mix amatuar writing, homosexuality, and hormones, you may end up with an ugly stew. (you should see what happened to the Gundam Wing fanfic section) I'm not against Homosexuality. Hedonism is what I'm worried about, and the two can go hand-in-hand. Of course, you can write about anything you want to. Freedom of expression is something I hold dear to me as well.

No matter how "fruity" he seems to act, a man is not gay until he persues other men. Not so. Homosexuality is NOT defined by whether one is in a relationship with a person of the same gender, but by how that person *feels* about those of their own gender and about the opposite gender. Someone can practice celibacy, choosing not to have a partner, and *still* be gay and proud of it. Elton John (before he met his long-term partner) is a good example of this.

All I have to is change the names in your remark to those of Gundam Wing characters, and it's a typical yaoi fangirl comment: "Oh come on! Heero/Duo is adorable! ^__^... then again, anything with Duo is adorable unless it's a Season Two episode." Pesonally, I think pairing up two 10-year-old cartoon girls and calling it adorable is something to think twice about. Unless, of course, you're writing a Card Captor Sakura fanfic. (Tomoyo's just too pitiful)
