You know what just came to me? About how Lucas is at every thing related to HSM. He's on all the disney 365 HSM related things, and he's even hosted the HSM concert. He participates in everything that is HSM related. And he gets NO love. He goes on disney mania cd's singing for disney movies, he sings on the winter album, and he gets no love from the HSM fanatics. He's been to more HSM events than Zac has, and has been with disney longer than zac, and they just ignore him. I think the only disney "volunteer work" that Zac has done was be in Disney Channel Games. Heh. Well, I wouldn't know this. But I'll believe you. Along with Ashley Tisdale, he's one of the few reasons High School Musical is actually slightly enjoyable.

Disney Channel movies are amateur movies. That's my overall conclusion, thanks to HSM. XD

*gasp* Goldenflither!! You can't call Disney Channel Movies AMATEUR movies!!! That would be an insult to OTHER amateur movies!!! ;D
To be honest with you, I have no idea why HSM turned into something big. What's so special about it? The acting? I'm a better actress than those actors, and I'm still a student. The glorification? So THAT'S where their budget money keeps going. The characters? Its a bunch of kids who can sing, two out of them which are so in love with each other, even us CHICKS throw up at the sight of them giggling. And WE'RE the CHICKS. We're the ones who are supposed to like this stuff. The setting? You can kinda tell they didn't do very well with the background. The plot? Disney made this sad, sad mistake, movie after movie, after movie, basing ALL the movies on this one message: Freedom. Granted; it is a beautiful message. Spread it. But not every time you make a f***gin' movie. I'm going to list all the movies along witht their themes. Madagascar: Freedom for Marty (The zebra). The Wild: Its basically a copy of Madagascar, probably because they ran out of ideas...as if we haven't noticed that. Oh and the message is FREEDOM for the cub. Happy Feet: Freedom to dance. HSM+HSM2: Freedom to sing (I don't know about HSM 1, but I can tell its theme). Over The Hedge: Freedom to explore/freedom from the bear's wrath. Mulan 2: Freedom to love. Bee Movie: Freedom. Any other movie made recently by Disney: Freedom. Let's face it, the magic has been sucked out of Disney by the application of the same theme OVER and OVER and OVER again. It has lost its originality, its zest, its passion and excitement that it used to have over a decade ago. And HSM is not about to change anything. The only reason it was SOOOO commercialised is that one of its songs "Breaking Free" got onto the list of Hits made in 2007. And it was over commercialised.
Sad, isn't it? We are slowly losing true acting, singing and dancing to over commercialised, amatuer media that doesn't deserve the attention its getting.

I thought the "message" in high school musical was "following your heart". You know, the whole "I'm pressured to do this manly macho sport but I wanna cook/dance/sing/double dutch/something that's disapproved of by my parents and peers. But in the end, I win some competition and everyone reaches an understanding and we're all friends and live happily ever after. YAY!"

Unfortunately, yes, that's what almost ALL Disney movies are about these days. Adding to that list, Cinderella 2. Part 1: pressured to do things according to tradition even when they seem silly, wrong and boring; does things her own way, and everyone loves it. Part 2: Wanting to be something else, and finding out you were perfect the way you always were. Part 3: doing what you feel is right even if your family disapproves, and learning to love yourself.

It's not a bad message at all. In fact, I'm glad they have some morality in them, compared to films like Borat and Jackass. But you guys are right. It's a very repetative moral used in the films. I'll add in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Jack: But what a ship is.. is freedom.

Eh, POTC was really just a pirate movie. I think that Freedom junk was just to give Jack some depth.

Actually, the third film, At World's End, got more into the freedom. How the pirates roam free, trying to escape the authority of Cutler Beckett, whose pretty much trying to take over everything. *cough cough* But, that's irrelevant.

The first movie was the best.
The sequels were okay, but pretty meh, IMHO.

Eh, I think the pirates were more interested in money than anything else.

Yeah. But I liked it anyway. ^^
I agree. Heck, I even consider it a Disney Classic. The other two films were more for older audiences. I still don't see why the first one was rated PG-13.
