As much as I like HSM, it isn't going to be considered a classic. No matter what they do. The only classics are the ones that are animated and have the platnum editions out.

I think a lot of the newer Disney 2d movies are going to be classics. Treasure Planet and Tarzan were both awesome. All the sequels they've been spewing can go rot.

THats something that kinda anoyed me. How can you make a sequal to the Fox and the hound? Don't they both grow up and move away at the end? How can one make a sequal of an ended plot?
I'm not a very big fan of most disney sequals(i do like hsm2 better than hsm tho) Like what was the point of Lion King 1 and 1/2 besides being told from Pumba's and Timons pov? I can understand a sequal to Cinderalla, and possibly The Little Mermaid, but none of the oter disney movies really need sequals. It's an excuse for disney to proudce products and movies, because they have no ideas at the time.
I think Finding Nemo and ToyStory(now that wasn't a bad sequal) are the only Pixar works to be considered classics.

What about Monster's Inc? That was a fantastic movie!
As for the sequels, I like Pocahontas 2 and Lion King 2, but neither measures up to their predecessors. And Cinderella 2 only had one good story (third one). HAven't seen the third, but I hear it's pretty good.
And of course, the obscure Bambi 2. Did you know there's a Bambi 2? It's the in-between stuff, starting right after his mother dies.

Monsters Inc. was pretty underrated. For some reason, it wasn't as successful as it should've been. I liked that one more than I liked Finding Nemo.
Disney Classics' sequels don't satisfy me one bit, only because it's obvious their trying to make the sequel just as much of a classic as the original, which annoys me. Especially the Disney Princess ones. Cinderella II (and III) were too much about the perfect woman, looks and personality. The Lion King 1 and 1/2, I won't lie, made me laugh. Still not a classic, but still pretty funny. XD Pocahontas II and The Little Mermaid II were completely unnecessary sequels, since I completely disregard what happened.
Heh. Well, anyways, I'll mention that the first movie of High School Musical wasn't dreadful. I didn't mind its over-obsession from the fans; I just ignored it because I knew that, eventually, the movie would be somewhat forgotten, like a lot of the other ones that were really popular a few years ago. Then they came out with the sequel, and then I started to get annoyed. Couldn't they just stop at the first one? I don't like it when the makers of the film think that they've really got something, and decide to keep going with it, but go too far. Kind of like Pirates of the Caribbean (not that I didn't like the second and third movies, because those ones were actually slightly enjoyable compared to High School Musical).
Right now, it makes me even more frustrated to know that there's a third one coming out. Get your head in the game, Ortega! Enough's enough!

Well, you can't really disregard Pocahontas 2, since those events happened in history. Well... as close to history as Disney made the first one.

I know what you mean. To you HSM series is like to me the POTC series. They should stop with the serious fangirling over the "hot" lead.
I'm excited for the third, I can't lie about that. And I'm hoping for more Ryan/Troy interaction, and for Disney to admit, that Ryan is their gay boy, and they cannot hide his gayness anylonger. Especially with his hats. I dont even remember what i was going to write anymore.

Yeah, I suppose that's true. Storyline speaking, though, I liked the story in the first one. (It also portrayed one of my favorite morals out of all of the Disney classics.)

It has a nice story, but my history teachers get to us about how the Jamestown in the movie isn't like the realthing. I've been there, so I should know. I still remember my history teacher saying" There are no water falls in Jamestown! It's unrealstic!"

Heh. XD
It's kind of cool when movies are based on real history. I still remember watching Peter Pan II with my sister and having no idea why Britain was being bombed. Then, last year in 10th grade History class, I learned that it was called the Battle of Britain.

I don't; they generally screw things up. They sure did with Mulan.
Still a good movie, though. ^^
Sequel, not so much.

Believe it or not, I've never seen Mulan in its entirety. I'd like to, since I've recently learned that Eddie Murphy is the voice actor for the little dragon (or lizard?).

You know what just came to me? About how Lucas is at every thing related to HSM. He's on all the disney 365 HSM related things, and he's even hosted the HSM concert. He participates in everything that is HSM related. And he gets NO love. He goes on disney mania cd's singing for disney movies, he sings on the winter album, and he gets no love from the HSM fanatics. He's been to more HSM events than Zac has, and has been with disney longer than zac, and they just ignore him. I think the only disney "volunteer work" that Zac has done was be in Disney Channel Games.
