Let's try this again. There's at least 2 other fans here. This is for anyone to discuss anything related to pro rasslin': WWE, TNA, nostalgia kicks, etc.
I'll start it off with 2 hot topics on Raw: the Elimination Chamber and the search for a new GM. Despite what people are saying, I'm excited about this EC. It's Angle's first time in one, HBK never disappoints, and Carlito's improved tremendously since his debut. I'm guessing Cena's still going to take it, tho. It's usually more fun with the face chasing the heel champ heading into Wrestlemania, but that's been the formula every year.
For Raw's GM, it looks like either Shane or Dusty Rhodes. I wouldn't mind either of them, and I would also love for it to be Ted DiBiase, making his on-air return. My longshot fantasy would be Marty Jannetty being rehired.
Hopefully Smackdown has a better year than last. Everything went wrong right at the end: Eddie Guerrero passed away, Christian walked, Benoit's contract is about to expire, Ken Kennedy got injured after impressing the hell out of me in his first few months, and Paul London and Brian Kendrick are stuck on Velocity. They have the talent on that side, they just need to know how to use it.
Thoughts? Opinions? Commentary?

I knew there had to be a wrestling post on here somewheres ;D. I've been a fan since the late 80s of the WWF (Back then, favorite wrestler-Million Dollar Man, tag team-Demolition). I did have a falling out around 94 to 97 (Due to lack of talent ;D) and have been watching since (Although, the last 2 months I haven't been really watching due to the fact I've been so busy on Mondays). What's been going on lately? I do have to start watching again soon due to Wrestlemania coming up . I do know Edge is the champion and Cena isn't anymore. Other than that, I have no clue. Yeah, it's too bad they let Christian go (I heard to TNA, I've only watched it twice). He had talent and such a personality ;D. Ok, I'm a little late on this.

Hallelujah, a reply! And from a Ted DiBiase fan no less! The Million Dollar Man was my all-time favorite too, even though he was a heel. I even cheered for him over Hogan. Demolition had the greatest music back in the day (Rick Derringer did the music for both Hogan and Demolition). Ax and Smash defined the team, though. It just wasn't the same with Crush. I totally agree about the 94-97 period. Anyone not named Bret Hart or Shawn Michaels was not worth watching back then. Kevin Nash's title reign of terror in 95 was what made me drop out, and then I got back into it shortly after the Montreal Screwjob.
Royal Rumble is this Sunday. If Wrestlemania is the Super Bowl of wrestling, the Rumble is the playoffs (while Survivor Series is the All Star Game/Pro Bowl). I'm looking forward to it. The last few years have been rather predictable as to who was going to win, but this year looks wide open. Rob Van Dam is coming back from his knee injury, and I'm salivating at the thought of him vs. Edge in the main event at Mania.

Well, there was the Undertaker at the time, too, but other than those, there was really nobody. Their best period was around the days of DX. Something I've noticed lately is that they've been lacking the additude/ characters. Yep, the Million Dollar man was awesome . He was an awesome wrestler and had the greatest character to match. And of course being yound at the time, I was a huge fan of the Million Dollar Belt ;D. I've always tended to lean towards the heels. Rob Van Dam is coming back? It's about time ;D Did Jericho come back yet?

I used to have a heel bias too, now it's just a mixed bag of who I feel has the best ring and mic skills. Meanwhile, JBL is doing a good job as the DiBiase-like character today.
No, Jericho is still touring with his band. He said he wanted a long break from wrestling, and is unsure if and when he'll return. He has made it clear that if he does come back, it will be with WWE, though.
It seems Attitude is starting to make a comeback, at least on Raw, and I think it's partly because they moved back to USA. Spike seemed a little more censor-happy, as they would bleep out more, and wouldn't let Vince get away with much. Now that Raw's back where it belongs, storylines are becoming somewhat racier again, and it's actually leading to higher ratings.
You gonna watch Smackdown tonight? Angle's their champion now (if you have been out of the loop, half the wrestlers only wrestle on Raw, and half only on Smackdown, and each has their own set of champions), and he's probably the best in-ring wrestler on either show. I'm not wild about Mark Henry main eventing (the point made by my avatar and personal text), but if anyone can get a good match out of him, Kurt can.

Yep, I'm familiar that there's both Smackdown and RAW (I've only been slow on watching it for about 2 months). I haven't really been watching Smackdown because most of the talent is on RAW. Mark Henry as a main eventer . WTF I think they should still combine the 2 and have a mixture of everybody like they used to. JBL I think was much better as Bradshaw. I use to like when the APA had the door in the middle of the room while playing poker and drinking beer ;D. Kurt Angle's is pretty awesome ;D 1st time I saw him was during an opening match before he joined. He's pretty talented and should be wrestling on RAW. Although Smackdown does have him, Matt Hardy (He's pretty cool, Jeff's on TNA ;D), Beniot (Did he ever leave like rumored?), and Randy Orton (They could do alot with him). How's the Women's division doing? I know they've added Mickie James. Victoria's pretty awesome (She became my favorite after the talented Molly Holly left). Although they've needed more wrestling and less b**** slapping . Trish Stratus proved herself though and Victoria actually wrestles. What about HHH. Is he still out? If he is, I feel he'll be back at Wrestlemania ;D I didn't get to watch Smackdown. I needed to buy food I take it your a Ric Flair fan. Slap. Wooo! ;D He'll be in the hall of fame after he retires.

Benoit's still finishing out the remainder of his contract. For a while, it looked like he wasn't going to resign, as WWE lowballed him with their first offer. Now it looks like they're coming to their senses and offering him more.
HHH is indeed back, and looks to be the one guy who stands out for the Rumble. I still have a gut feeling he's not going to win. I bet Edge retains against Cena, as they want a heel champ going into Mania (and the fans turned on Cena towards the end of his reign), and they want a strong face to go in and challenge. Also, Trips married Steph in real life a few months ago, and now she's pregnant with their first child. He'll probably want some time off when the baby is born, so putting the title on him for a long period won't make sense if he won't be on TV to defend it.
I am a Flair fan, though I was upset with some of the things he said about Bret Hart in his book. Still, he put on an unbelievable ladder match with Edge a few weeks ago.
Matt Hardy really got a raw deal. Lita was sleeping with Edge in real life, so when Matt blasted them on his website, he got fired for "unprofessional conduct." It was the fans chanting "We want Matt" time and again that made Vince reconsider, and they turned it into a storyline. That's why, while I recognize Edge is a good wrestler, I don't think he deserves a title run. Matt's the best at blurring the lines between kayfabe and reality. Jeff used to be good before he got into drugs and started no-showing live events. I'm really hard on him because I know he can do so much better. The Hardyz were like the modern-day versions of the Rockers.
The women's division was pretty bad at one point, but now it's getting better. I too loved Molly. She was uber-talented, and hot to boot. Trish has to be my fav now. Trouble is, they've been doing this Diva Search every year, where fans vote for new Divas. 2004's was a complete waste of time, and bled into ppv's. Last year's wasn't so bad. Already they had to fire Christy because they couldn't afford her. Ashley, however, has already improved quite a bit, and seems dedicated to the business.
Smackdown has talented wrestlers, but like I said before, they either don't get TV time, or they job to crappy hosses. I just wish the cruiserweights would get more time. I love seeing them fly around the ring.

Just thought I'd tell you about the typo. You said months instead of years.
They're finally turning on Cena? Woo hoo! ;D I think he got too big of a push too fast. As cool as his spinning belt was, I didn't think he really deserved it. I'm happy to hear that the Women's division is starting to get better again. It was kinda sucking for awhile. Some lingerie matches are ok, but they overdid it and I wouldn't even consider those matches actually wrestling (I'm not sure what guys actually think about those, though, since I'm not one).

Like Christain! He deserved a bigger push, but pushed him the wrong way. No wonder he left.
I'm glad HHH's back. Some people don't like him, but he is an excellent heel (Or face) and I do believe he deserved everything he worked for. I'm waiting for the next HHH. He should have a feud against HBK again (Another guy who really worked his way up and came back when everyone thought his career was done for).
After hearing all this, I have to set my VCR on Monday! Can't forget.

Actually, I think they married over the summer. It wasn't that long ago, and as far as storylines are concerned, they're still divorced.
I agree about Cena. He's not terrible in the ring, but he didn't deserve the highest belt, either. Remember the 94 Rumble with Bret and Lex Luger, where they eliminated each other at the end? When each was announced as the winner, Bret got the bigger pop by far. I would love to see them do that finish with Cena and RVD. On some boards, the Cena hate is extreme, where some people say he's the worst champion ever (Uhh...remember Diesel? Or Ultimate Warrior?). Personally, I think Batista was worse. Cena had at least some charisma, and is apparently a good guy backstage.
As a guy, the women are hot, but I got the Internet for that. They released a lot of the talented ones, like Molly and Gail Kim. Christy wasn't that good, but she was definitely willing to learn.
Another thing that was messed up was the tag team division. The roster split has its good and bad points. They can do more live shows and ppv's every year this way, and TV time can be extended to guys who otherwise would just sit backstage and maybe appear on Heat or Velocity. On the minus side, the titles are cheapened, as wrestlers are only the champions of half the company. Teams were split up, and creative decided to just randomly throw underachieving singles wrestlers together and give them the tag titles. Real tag teams, like they had in the 80's and early 90's with Demolition, Hart Foundation, the Rockers, the Rougeaus, Brainbusters, etc. are a lost art. It's basically only the Heartthrobs on Raw. Smackdown's a little better, as we get MNM, the Mexicools, and a bunch of jokes but still actual teams like the Dicks, and the Gymini. London and Kendrick are also a team, and I've seen them billed as the Hooliganz and Insult 2 Injury (these guys should so feud with MNM). Recombining the roster might revitalize the tag ranks.

I enjoyed actual tag teams in general. Although they do have MNM. The Rockers Hee Hee! ;D. Anyways, that was awesome when they brought Jennetty back for that one time only match a few months ago. He really kept up, it was amazing. Ok, now Im off topic. quote: "As a guy, the women are hot, but I got the Internet for that. They released a lot of the talented ones, like Molly and Gail Kim." Gail Kim was talented too and very beautiful. Too bad she was only there for a short period of time. Molly was just awesome (The 1st saw her in WCW and was impressed right away). As a chick, they need more hot guys ;D (Who do they have left...pretty much Orton. Christian was some hot stuff too, but they had to let him walk , Jericho's not there. And then there's..................Oh well, I watch it for the entertainment it is .

They actually brought Jannetty back with the intention of a long-term deal, and possibly a permanent Rockers reunion. Unfortunately, while they were waiting for him to finish up his indy dates, he got busted for a DUI, and apparently Florida has the dumbest bail bond laws in the country, so he couldn't get out of jail to make his first WWE bookings, so they released him. It's a shame too. The Rockers were the best team to never win the tag titles, and now they can't correct that.
From the perspective of a straight male, I would say the best-looking guy on the roster is Paul London. Although he's trying to grow a goatee now, and it's just not working.
WWE, meanwhile, just signed a SMOKIN' new girl to their developmental promotion, Krissy Vaine. I hope they also bring in Jenny Taylor, who Vaine has been feuding with throughout the indies. She is something else.

Raw comes on in 10 minutes for me. Anyway, yeah, he beat Edge at teh Rumble last night. He did have a great entrance though, descending from a stage overhead with pyro. Sounds like it's going to be him vs. HHH at Mania. No wonder they didn't get rid of that spinny belt.
Rey won the Rumble last night. Refreshing that it wasn't another generic hoss, and most of us didn't see it coming. Tatanka came back in the Rumble last night, as did Goldust. I marked like hell for both of them.

I won't ruin anything for you then ;D. I'm glad I didn't mention the last match like I was going to. Rey Mysterio's a good wrestler (especially since they don't hire wrestlers his height).

Wonder what they're doing with Lita? I don't think she can ever be a face again.
That promo Edge gave at the beginning is one reason he wasn't a great champion either. For the most part he's good in the ring and good on the mic, but he also tries too hard sometimes.
Chavo Guerrero put on a hell of a match with HHH. He should get some recognition soon.
We could be seeing RVD vs. Carlito at Wrestlemania. It would be even better if the IC Title were invovled.
