Part of the debate is whether some now are canon. And part of the fun in KND is the characters, and as part of that, the shipping.
But you're right. At least on the episode discussion, we should try and keep discussion of shipping out. In any case. 3 and 4 is pretty well entrenched now, but aside from that we can at least try to focus on other stuff.

Like...the spin-off?
Or, we can think of what Nigel's life is going to be like now that he is a part of the Galatic Kids Next Door. How about we think of what life is going to be like when Numbuh 5 is the leader for Sector V, and when she becomes Supreme Commander?
...Just a suggestion.

Part of the debate is whether some now are canon. Except none of those are canon, and 1/362 is less implied than 5/H, so really is a lousy measure of likelihood. I gotta wonder what those other "kids" will be like. Not all can be humanoid, if there are enough planets with intelligent life to take only one from each planet and form a deeper organization to assist even MORE planets where no such agencies exist. Think he'll have to learn some new languages? Can't expect every creature in the Galaxy to know English.

Is the Spin-Off going to be the GKND? That would be awesome. Well, this is Mr. Warburton. Reality is not exactly his strong point. (ref. The Japanese Kids Next Door speak English, as do the russians and Mexicans.) More likely most of them will be spoofs of Star Trek, Star Wars, etc. But it's an interesting question. We'd have a whole new cast of characters, except for maybe Numbuh 1 (without his glasses.) Might see some faces from the past, though. And certainly there'd have to be some alien creatures among them. Would Dr. Time and Space Contiuum show up? That'd be fun.
@5 leading kids next Door. That's interesting. There's been some speculation about why she even managed to get in there, what happened to Rachel, but I won't go into that. As Sector V, you wonder if they'd get someone else to replace 1, but that seems unlikely. Maybe, given her connection with Cree, there could be a great face-off against the teenagers. That would explain the whole business in TREATY, introducing Steve and everyone.
Actually, I doubt we'll find out. That seems to be a period they'd just as soon have us guess about. It couldn't be very long in any case, as Abby is nearly a teenager.

Out of all the unanswered questions this one is bugging me the most right now. Why'd father wait until now to ask where Nigel is. From the looks of how old everyone looked in the interviews I'd say a good 30 years have passed at least (Abby looked OLD, like she's a grandma now.) So why now, when Nigel's about to come home did father take a serious intrest in his location?

Hmm. That's an interesting question. Then again, why is there an island where schoolyard bullies are dinosaurs?

Good point. Again, reality is not such an issue.
You could say that maybe Father's maintained an obsession with Nigel Uno since that day, and has never gotten his pipe back. So he's been trying to find Nigel for forever, but only recently, got the idea (or ability) to recommision his old freinds and ask them.
Either that, or it's a movie reference. I don't know how many shows I've seen where the bad guys try to get the good guys to betray their friends like that, in an "Interview"

I can't think of any.
Gotta wonder how Wally got into Harvard. From what we've seen of his family, particuarly POOL and ELECTIONS, they aren't very well off (second job for a pool, lousy area of town, very small allowance).
Maybe he really DID get a sports scholarship... O.o

Plus, Nigel is Father's nephew. I don't know. Maybe that plays a role in it.
Oh well. In all honesty, I don't really care. Unless they go through with more specials or a movie or something.

Thanks to Desslok, I finally got to watch it. Excuse me while I collect more thoughts on this... Okay, I am not disappointed with the finale, it was good, but not really that great, and please excuse the pessimism. It doesn't feel as a epic as I hope it would be. But still, I really enjoyed it through and through. The first point I would like to make is the live-action scenes. I am sorely disappointed with it because I was hoping for the voice actors to fill in for the real live scenes. Don't get me wrong, the actors did a decent job, but it just felt wrong. The best way was they should've animated it in the first place. Sector V's romp through the scavenger hunt with the other villains feels like an eternity. It really feels like they just stretch it and drag it along until the end of the show. Numbuh 363 attitude doesn't make it any better either. Every time he showed up I had this tendency to drag this kid and put him in a cellar. At least Sonya and Lee was kind enough to shut him up so... points for them! So that's why Rachel doesn't hang out with her brother often. And my favorite part, and certainly everyone else's favorite part, is of course, the ending. I found myself holding back my tears as I never once thought the ending would be so emotional, coming from a cartoon show of all things. The tearful goodbyes was really touching and moving, and there was few surprises thrown in between. Hoagie's goodbye was the most emotional of them all, and I really liked when Kuki said her goodbyes to Nigel, very sweet. Short, but sweet. Though I do not understand why Numbuh 0 and 999 would let go their only son away so easily to Galactic Kids Next Door. Here's a thought: how can Rachel not know about the Galactic Kids Next Door? She's the leader isn't it? Shouldn't the GKND contact the leader first in regards of all activities on earth? In closing, good finale overall. Loved it. Would watch it over and over. Opens a lot of stuff for discussion (though I don't feel it's a good thing to have the ending 'hanging' like that). Hats off to Mr. Warburton and everyone at Curious Pictures. Thank you for crafting such an enjoyable show. It will be missed greatly. It's an inspiration to all of us animators out here. So... how about that spin-off, eh? Just don't make it like your usual space-faring action/adventure cartoon. Pros and Cons:+ Emotional ending. Beautiful ending to a great show. + Shippers get what they wanted. 3/4 and 2/5 fans, congratulations. + Numbuh 363 got shoved with a yo-yo. + Abby as Leader of Sector V and eventually, Supreme Leader of the KND. + Wally becomes... smart? + Sonya and Lee make an awesome pairing. + I'd ride a Drop-a-Log ride. + Lizzie who? + The cake isn't a lie. - The live action part should've been animated. - Numbuh 363 is an annoying brat. - No 1/362 thing going on. - I wish we could see more of the Galactic Kids Next Door. The kind of alien operatives, treehouses, planets etc. etc. - So that's it? That's the story of the end of the Delightful Children? Got flushed into a huge toilet bowl? - I'm a bit confused as to how Numbuh 5 got to be the Supreme Leader. Did Numbuh 362 get decommissioned for hitting 13? - Chad made a lot of fuss about not being selected for the GKND, he should be in this episode. - CGI Father. Shouldn't he be Grandfather by now? - Numbuh 86 is almost entirely absent from this episode. Fanart tiem!

It's official. Desslok rules. Just finished watching it. It was waaaaay better than I'd expected. I know there were loose ends that weren't tied and the idea of a teammate leaving is really sad, but the actual cartoon itself was put together so well. The live action wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. It was funny. I especially thought the actor playing Numbuh 5 was good. Oh, and even if it said otherwise on Wikipedia, live action Numbuh 4 DEFINITELY did not sound British. It was so awesome to see all those old characters making a comeback. The piano guy, Cuppa Joe, Willard... great stuff. The CGI Father was something I wasn't looking forward to, since I'm kinda picky about animation quality, but actually it was so cheesy it made me laugh. I just thought the whole concept of him wanting his pipe back was so funny, and light-hearted so it accompanied the heavy going stuff nicely. I welled up during the goodbyes. It was a very moving scene, and I'm not usually one to cry over TV shows or movies either, so well done to Sector CP there! Another thing that was done really well was the Hoagie/Kuki marriage red herring, particularly when they were first introduced. Mind you, Sector CP have always been good at that stuff so it was great to see some of that in the finale. It would have been nice to see a bit of Numbuh 5 as supreme commander, but then again I liked how the animated part ended. I also enjoyed that pretty much the whole mission was a team one. I've always felt those are the strongest kind of episodes throughout the series, and was really glad that a team mission was used to end the series. I think the open-ended stories would have bothered me more, had I not known about them before watching, so I can understand why there was some disappointment when it premiered. But all in all, I was a lot more impressed than I thought I would be, and it's definitely the best ending to a cartoon series I've ever seen. Come to think of it, very few cartoons these days even have a proper grand finale, so the show did well just to get there. A very sad way to end a series, but not too sad since it turns out he eventually returned. Maybe not quite as epic as we had prepared for a few months back, but all in all the episode was done well. I laughed, I cried, I was like "whoa..." countless times, and there was a whole lotta action. That's what KND has always been about, right?

I just finished watching it as well. And I must say, I thought it was absolutely fantastic. Exactly what I was waiting for throughout the entire series. Just Sector V. Almost the perfect KND episode. Good humor, great battle scenes (there couldn't been more), friendship all around, and.. well, an imbalance of happiness and sadness.
I thought it was a little too depressing at the end. Don't get me wrong, I loved those farewells. But I still think it was a bad way to end the series. Maybe if he'd changed his mind about going at the last minute or something, it would've been better.
I agree with Googol. The live actors weren't as bad as I thought. I especially liked Numbuh 2's live actor, and Numbuh 5's was good too. Actually, hers was great. Her personality was perfect, and I'm not so picky about her appearance anymore.
Overall, fantastic. Sad, but fantastic.

I think I'll keep it alive by ignoring most of season 6. Overall, not as good as I expected.
Thank God for Fandom.
