I adore My Neighbor Totoro. ^^ I first saw it in my Japanese class (for culture reference and stuff), and I've seen it... oh, 20 times since. I asked for it for my birthday, on DVD... dual language if possible (but the dub is really good)... I adore Totoro.
But yes, anything by Studio Ghibli pretty much is a classic. I wasn't too fond of "Castle in the Sky," but even that was a good movie.

(Same with... oh, what was it called? CLAMP did it. Kamui... something like that... was the main character) You must be talking about X 1999 here. ^_^ In any case, that movie sounds a LOT like a movie I saw a while back. It was about a little boy (with a name I don't recall) who wnet looking for his lost mother with this drunk guy. Except, the mother had remarried and forgotten the boy. It was quite sad... I saw it on HBO a while back. ^^ Would this happen to be "Kikujiro no Natsu"?

Yeah, that's sounds right.
As for the second... geez, I have no idea what the title is. It was Japanese, it was before I started lessons... had to do with a little angel-shaped bell that the drunk guy gave the kid on the beach. Did that happen in the movie you're thinking of?

Yes, yes! That's it! The drunk guy didn't know how to swim and he was also beaten up by yakuza and um... he messed up their attempts to hitchhike. That's all I can remember. ^^;;
The guy who plays Kikujiro (I think his name is Beat Takeshi) is really funny.

Yay! That is the movie! It was very good; I was sad when the mother was found... Do you remember that part where to cheer the kid up, they have one guy put on green paint and act like an 'alien' who had landed? And then they send him into the fields for the kid to find, and they forget all about him? XD Great scene, that...

Hehe, I remember that. The part when they found his mom, that was really sad. I remember asking, "Wait, was that really his mom??" ;_;

I was hoping they had made a mistake, and that it wasn't *really* his mom. How sad... but still, realistic.
