I have a lot of favorite movies (too many to name), and most of them are by Disney. But my all-time favorite movie is, without a doubt, The Great Mouse Detective. Nothing has ever taken its sacred spot.

The older ones. ^.^ Nah, I'm intensly picky about special effects, I was even able to complain about LotR... ^.^ I tend to hate CGI myself. I mean back in the day we had people complaining that the Rancor in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi looked fake, but it certainly looks more realistic than many of these Computer-Generated effects that stick out like a sore thumb--you can even look at specific scenes sometimes and say "That is SOOO obviously Computer-Generated." But the older stuff.... totally convincing. The Neverending Story had a lot of scenes that looked fine and were believably pulled off, and V'Ger's cloud (in Star Trek: The Motion Picture) is still one of the best things I've seen in any movie.

I also hate those older movies with "creatures" and things that aren't human where you can practically hear the little robotic blinks and things. Like that turtle thing in The Neverending Story (It's been a while; I don't remember the name). I liked that movie though. I cried when the horse died. n.n()

My favorite movies? Hm... I don't really watch/like a lot of movies, but my favorites are...
Princess Mononoke Millennium Actress Lord of the Rings series Pocahontas (it's so fun to make parodies of that movie XD) The Last Unicorn
Yes, I do go for animated movies. Was it that obvious?
What I really hate is when people combine badly done CG animation with traditional animation. Like in the FY movie series Eikoden. Urk... >____<;; It looks really bad. In fact, the CGI by itself is really bad and made even worse by the juxtaposition of it and normal animation.

I really liked Millenium Actress. The music was awesome, and it's cool because the actress of the title goes through about 1000 years of Japanese history in her career as an actress (well, actually, I think it's less than a millenium of history, but it completes it by going a bit into the future), so the costumes are really interesting.
I like Shrek too. Grave of the Fireflies... that movie was so sad. I liked it, but it was just so sad. ;_; Actually, there was a movie I watched in sixth grade, I think, which was only in Japanese, so I couldn't understand any of it. Despite that, and also that it had a happy ending, I cried so much. It was very sad. ;_; I think the title of it was um... something with "Marco" in it.

...Macross X maybe? It's about... geez, I dunno. Giant robot airplanes and an evil idol singer android. It starts with Marco... No, it's a story about a little boy named Marco who wants to find his mother, who is bedridden with some illness. I don't really know the specific stuff, but he has to go a long way to find her and he has a lot of problems along the way, but eventually, they become reunited. EDIT: Woo! After some research, I found that the name is "Marco--3000 Miles in Search of Mother". The story is... his mother went away to work abroad and sends letters, but suddenly the letters stop. Marco becomes concerned, so he goes out and tries to find his mother.

Could have been plus... I saw it because a friend really wanted me to. I didn't really like it, but then I wasn't familer with the series behind it either... (Same with... oh, what was it called? CLAMP did it. Kamui... something like that... was the main character)
In any case, that movie sounds a LOT like a movie I saw a while back. It was about a little boy (with a name I don't recall) who wnet looking for his lost mother with this drunk guy. Except, the mother had remarried and forgotten the boy. It was quite sad... I saw it on HBO a while back. ^^

Someone mentioned My Neighbor Totoro? I remembered that movie! It's a real classic! That was the first movie I ever saw by Hayao Miyazaki. He also did Princess Mononoke, which is on my list of favorite movies.
