Chapter 4.
This chapter is dedicated to Numbuh 6 (The Botherer!) because she is sick.
__________________________________________________________
Walabee was in the house he woke up in once more. She had given him a tour--the building wasn't big, but it was very interesting. Japanese decorating was....different. Not only was he introduced to the house, but he was introduced to a new person---Kimiko Sanban. Kimiko was a polite, intellegent, and beautiful girl. She was 18 years old and was very fond of Kuki. She had blue eyes and hair as black as Kuki's done up in a bun. She always wore a kimono embroidered with flowers. Kuki said even though kimonos were only for special occasions, Kimiko loved to wear hers because her mother had given it to her. Kuki also explained that kimonos were extremely expensive. It cost what seemed like a fortune just to rent one. Kimiko wasn't only polite and cultured, however---she was very strict. She commanded that Wally follow the Japanese customs in her house---or at least that's how Kuki translated it. Kimiko spoke English so poorly that Kuki had to act as an interpreter for Walabee.
However, the Austrailian boy wasn't thinking about all this. He was thinking about that moment in the park....with that Kenji boy. He was polite, cheerful, handsome, intellegent....he.....he seemed almost perfect. Walabee had ALWAYS been Kuki's favourite. She had been so dependent on him. But now......she was just into this stupid Japanese kid......and they had only met once. Even so, Wally knew there was definitely something going on between them.......imagine the long term results! 'Look at me....' Walabee thought. 'Ahm gettin' all upset over one stupid boy.....she probably doesn' even like 'im.....ah mean....ahm no good at girls.......'
It was then that Walabee heard his door opened. "Wally kun?" rang Kuki's voice. Wally buried his face in the bed. "Ahm surprised yer not out with tha' Kenji er whatevuh," he said from underneath his covers. Kuki giggled. "It was only one meeting, Wally. But I DID get his phone number........do you think he likes me?" Walabee was so sure his heart broke just then he could almost hear it. Tears welled up in his eyes. Kuki didn't even know how much he cared about her.......she just saw him as a friend........"Ah........ah dunno.........ahm not good at this kinda stuff........." Kuki blushed and looked at the phone number in her hands. "Well.........well I'm gonna call him. Wish me luck!" Wally raised his hand, as if to salute Kuki, but he didn't wish her well at all. He just wished Kenji didn't exist.
Kuki ran down the hallway to the phone. She looked at the paper---the numbers were in Japanese. 'Well, I wouldn't blame him,' Kuki thought. 'I mean....he's never BEEN to America....he isn't perfect when it comes to speaking English.' Kuki sighed and dailed the number, taking deep breaths as she went. 'Remember, Kuki.....no matter what happens.....Kenji likes you......maybe he just doesn't.....LIKE you, like you..........yeah..........' Kuki crossed her fingers and waited for Kenji to answer.
"Konnichiwa?" A voice came on the other end of the line. Kuki knew from experience that voices sounded different on the phone, so she wanted to confrim who it was. "Ko---kore wa Kenji desu ka?" She said shakily. "Ha--hai......kore wa......Kuki chan desu ka?" Kuki's face lit up. "YES! HI, KENJI KUN!" Kuki could have sworn she felt Kenji smile on the other end of the phone. "I was wondering if you would call.........I'm so glad to hear from you." Kuki blushed bright red and giggled madly. "Yeah.......ummm.......listen.......Kenji.......well........we're having a picnic tomorrow.......and.......I'm allowed to invite--" "I'D LOVE TO!" Kuki was taken aback. "Uhh........I didn't ask yet........" "Oh......right. I am sorry.....but......I.........I was certain you would ask........may I come?" Kuki jumped up and down on the floor. "YES! YES! YES! PLEASE DO! I'LL SEE YOU THERE! SUNDAY AT 3:00 AM TILL 9:00 PM AND YES I KNOW IT'S LONG BUT STILL! I'LL SEE YOU THERE, KENJI KUN!"
Kuki slammed the phone down, her heart beating like a jackhammer. She felt that Kenji Aisu really did love her. If he did, she had found what she needed to be happy.
Although Walabee certainly felt differently.

I'm sorry to say Wally won't be too happy during this story.......but things do get a lot better for Kuki.
_Chapter 5. I think._____________________________________________________________
It was 2:45 pm. Kuki and Wally were getting ready for the picnic. "I guess I'm bringing two people, Wally kun! Except......well.......we HAVE to bring you, because Kimiko never lets anyone alone in the house. But that's okay. This is gonna be great!" Walabee looked at Kuki and wondered why she thought that. Was it because Kenji was coming, or because he was? 'Wull......Kuki usually says wha's makin' her happy.....so ah guess she would've said if it was me........so it must be that stupid nerd again! Wha's so great abou' 'im, eh? There's nothin' great abou' 'im! 'E's jus'.........jus'.......stupid! Yeah! Stupid, tha's wha' he is.......'
Just then, the doorbell rang. Kuki squealed and opened it. But instead of Kenji, she was surprised to find a stamp-collecting, annoying little bald man. "Uhhhhh........who are you?" The man looked around at everybody, then ran away. Kuki stared for about 5 minutes. After the long silence, Walabee broke it by saying, "Tha' was weird." Kuki nodded and then shut the door. 10 minutes later the doorbell rang again. "IF IT'S THE BALD GUY, YOU WERE NOT INVITED!" Kuki shouted. A framiliar noise of confusion came from the other end of the door. Kuki jumped and hurried to let Kenji in. The Japanese boy waved happily. "I am so glad to be here," he said. "Tell me......is it time for this picnic?" Walabee glared. "Yeah, it's time for thuh picnic.........jus' don' get overexcited." Kenji's smile widened. "That sounds very hard, Walabee kun. But.......I will try."
At the picnic, Walabee was munching on a slice of watermellon while carefully eyeing Kenji. He was talking with Kuki near a tree. 'Their second day knowin' each other and they're talkin' like siblins.......it isn' fair. How come she likes HIM so much?"
"I am so glad to see you having fun, Kuki chan." Kuki giggled. She didn't think she could get any redder. "Yeah......but the only reason I'm having any fun at all is cause you're here." Kenji felt his face getting hot. He tried to hide it, but it just kept coming. "Ah.........I.......I must have eaten something spicy......." Kuki shoved Kenji playfully. "You silly, we didn't BRING any spicy foods. "Well......perhaps somebody....." "You're starting to sound like Numbuh 1." Kenji suddenly perked up. His head darted towards Kuki's. "Numbuh......1? Is that.....a codename? For.......kids next--" "Yeah! Numbuh 1's our leader! In the kids next door......he's always thinking someone's trying to kill him or something. My codename's Numbuh 3. But......I like it waaaaay better when you call me Kuki chan." Kenji's heart started beating faster and faster. Kuki COULDN'T be in the kids next door.........she just COULDN'T. If Kuki was in the kids next door............and..........SHE'D NEVER FORGIVE HIM! Kuki went on talking about her team back home, but with every word, Kenji felt the problem growing larger and larger.
8:30 pm. Kuki was looking at the stars, her eyes shining with admiration. Walabee was sitting below the balcony where Kuki stood, looking up at her. Kenji was beside Kuki, looking at her with sparkling eyes. In his hand he held a bag. He had bought a present for Kuki yesterday. His conscience told him it was too soon to get Kuki a gift, but he felt so strongly about her. "Kuki?" he called hesitantly. Kuki turned around. "What is it, Kenji kun?" "Kuki, I........I bought you this." Kenji held up the bag for Kuki. Her eyes widened. She took the bag and slowly opened it. She dug her hands into it and felt something smooth. Not just smooth.......it was................it was...................
silk.
As she felt around a little more, she discovered a ribbon. There was only one thing Kuki could think of with these features. But...........it couldn't be........Kuki lifted the present out of the bag, and as she saw what was inside, her eyes watered. In her hands, made of pure silk, embroidered with pink butterflues, was the most beautiful and most wonderful gift she had ever recieved.
Kenji Aisu had given her a kimono.
"KENJI KUN! YOU DIDN'T!" Kenji looked surprised. "You.....don't like it?" "ARE YOU CRAZY, KENJI? THIS THING IS FLAWLESS! NOT EVEN OKASAN WILL BUY ME A KIMONO! It's so beautiful.............." Kuki started to cry. "Kenji.........how........how did you.......AFFORD this?" Kenji smiled. "I had a stash of money somewhere. Try it on. I know you will be beautiful." Kuki slowly put the kimono on over her clothes and admired its beauty. "Nothing is too great for you, Kuki chan." Kuki ran to Kenji and threw her arms around him. She almost choked him in a hug. "You.........are............the sweetest person........I will ever know," the enraptured girl said. She let the tears of happiness run down her cheeks. "Thank you so much, Kenji." Kenji felt Kuki's happiness, but he was not happy.
Because a kids next door operative could never be happy with him.
