1) The original poster was simply stating an opinion. If he/she had been saying "3/4 sux its so stooopid" or something like that, that would be "couple bashing."

Anyway allow me to draw a distinction. Couple bashing is this:

"3/4 is STUPID! It's boring and I wish they'd BREAK UP!1! I want Numbuh 3 to DIE!!! 4/CatLady FOR EVAH!!!1!"

Such a post would be deleted quite rapidly. In this thread, if you'll note, the OP wrote the FACT that some people hate 3/4 (which is true) and asked for opinions. That isn't character (or ship) bashing.

Furthermore, if you take issue with any thread or post you can easily rectify that by using the convenient 'report to mod' button. Or just PM a mod with a link and an explanation of your grievances. You have my word all such complaints will be addressed promptly and impartially. To start grousing about mods without even registering a complaint is not commendable behavior.

I think this thread is quite alright. It breaks no rules. You may disagree with what it says (or some people in it say) and defend your position with any civil rhetoric you care to muster but don't expect me, or any other mod, to censor it without a clear indication some rule and/or standard of behavior had been broken. If you do have any such indications or, indeed, any complaints at all feel free to post them. Otherwise leave the mod staff alone. Thank you for your time.

I don't get it. If your theory were true, why would 2/5 fans lock a some people hate 1/5 thread? Your sentence makes it sound like they'd lock it because they really like 1/5 and wouldn't want to see any negative opinions on it. Or was that a typo and you meant Hoagie/Abby, not Nigel/Abby? And why would they not lock a some people hate 3/4 thread because they're 2/5 fans?

Umm, am I making sense? I don't think the above paragaph was coherant.

Anyway. The OP simply stated the fact that yes, some people hate 3/4... Some people REALLY hate 3/4. You should've seen the old Operation: LOVE thread. Most of the stated reasons for the dislike is that it's "shoved in their faces," the number of 3/4 fanfics/fans, and the behavior of its fans. (Though some dislike it because it "blocks" the preferred pairing involving one of those characters.)

I'm really teed off by that comment, 'cause even though I'm not a mod, I wouldn't delete or lock a "I hate 2/5" thread. People are entitled to their opinions...even though they really should back up their opinions with intelligent comments, not just "I hate 2/5 because Abby shouldn't be with the fat boy!!11!!"

And for the record, I don't hate 3/4, far from it. But silly comments like that one make me cringe. That kind of stuff makes 3/4 shippers (in general) look silly.

I didn't like Op. CATS, but that had more to do with the negative, stereotyped portrayal of my favorite felines than the Kuki/Wallyness.
