I was in Montana's yesterday. They place some paper down on the table, and at the side, they have a little cup of crayons. So I grabbed the orange and green one and drew a flower with orange petals. Then I wrote down:
"WAKI" Love
Get it? Wally and Kuki? Connected with Wacky?
...
Yeah..

Well, Panda Warriors, here's the rest of my little story, of which my previous post was a (rather large) preview (with a few edits here and there). I might as well come out and fully explain myself... by stating that this Tuesday is September 11, and as such, I've been seeking to estimate exactly how the Kids Next Door would react if such villainy as transpired on that day six years ago happened in their world. I've no doubt that most of you Panda Warriors have your own assumptions about Wally and Kuki as a couple, but my basic idea has not changed. I first focused on Nigel and Rachel's reactions, as page 13 of the Courting Commanders thread IX will indicate. Now to proceed with the next part of my plot, the September 11 airplane terror strikes through the eyes of Wallabee Beetles and Kuki Sanban... and, to a lesser extent, the other "main" operatives of the Kids Next Door:
The fun-loving Japanese girl waited apparently thoughtfully outside the office of the Supreme Commander of the Kids Next Door, her normally carefree demeanor significantly diminished as she looked around her. Her four Sector V friends wore expressions of grim concern as they remembered Numbuh 362's haunting request over the Moonbase intercom several minutes ago:
"Attention, Kids Next Door Moonbase. Sector V operatives..." A long pause, followed by a barely discernible sigh of resignation. "Please report to my office immediately. 362 out."
The dismal tone in the Supreme Commander's voice was instantly clear to the girl's ears and mind, and if there was one thing that Kuki Sanban disliked seeing or hearing greatly -- other than insulted Rainbow Monkeys -- it was a friend who was upset about anything. The rumors and speculations had been spreading, and none of them were pretty.
"Hey, Kooks..." the short blonde boy next to her interrupted her train of thought. "Are you all right?"
Kuki looked down at Wallabee Beetles, known to her as Wally, the boy she had a crush on, her face now betraying a sort of fear. Sector V was her team, but they along with 362 were also her closest friends, and she was always concerned about them in her own way even now, "I don't know, Wally. Abby, what do you think was wrong with Numbuh 362 when she called us over the intercom?"
Abby, a.k.a. Numbuh Five, turned to Kuki from blankly facing the automatic door, the brim of her red cap covering her eyes, and shook her head. "Girl, Numbuh Five is as confused and clueless as you are."
Just then, the door to Numbuh 362's office opened, indicating to Sector V that she was ready to talk to them. They steadily filtered inside, the bald boy with sunglasses perched on his nose leading the way. Numbuh 362 was standing in front of a large window and staring at the revolving Earth, her arms tucked strictly behind her back.
"Numbuh 362? Rachie?" Kuki tentatively asked as her sector leader, Numbuh One, better known as Nigel Uno, began to smile at her use of that nickname... only to return to his previously sober demeanor. "What's wrong? Did you lose some...?"
Kuki didn't finish that last question, nor did she have to, because at that moment, Numbuh 362 turned around to face Sector V. The expression on Rachel McKenzie's face was enough to chill all of them exponentially, especially Kuki. It was the face of a girl absolutely overwhelmed by the news she was about to tell them. Kuki was certain now: something was seriously wrong, and Sector V was about to find out exactly what it was.
"There's been an attack at the eastern end of Sector V," Rachel almost whispered to five subsequent gasps of shock, her voice hoarse as if she was about to cry.
"Attack? Wh-what do you mean 'attack'...?" Hoagie Gilligan, a.k.a. Numbuh Two, inquired hesistantly, his goggles hiding the fear in his eyes.
Rachel paused for a very long moment before regaining her composure, or at least appearing to do so. "Two airplanes... at least 10 men from the Middle East hijacked them... and crashed them into those twin skyscrapers in New York City. Both buildings have collapsed. Almost 3,000 casualties were counted so far... and they came from all around the planet."
Hoagie's jaw dropped at the last two sentences Rachel just said. Nigel might have developed a calm expression, but even his sunglasses couldn't hide the total indignation emanating from him. As for Kuki, her chin started to quiver while she wrapped her arms around Wally as tightly as she could. Wally didn't even try to budge; a level of anger that he'd never felt before froze him in place.
"All those people... all the children... simply gone...?" Kuki stammered, her eyes large with total terror, her body shaking similarly... until she burst into tears and buried her head onto Wally's shoulder.
Ignoring Kuki's helpless wailing for now, Wally turned to Rachel and practically demanded, "Do we know where these creeps are now, Numbuh 362? I want to beat the crud" -- the last word he declared while punching into his right hand -- "out of 'em if it's the last thing I do!!"
"No, lad, we don't," a voice as dismal as everyone else's had been turned everyone's heads and eyes -- except Kuki's -- to the doorway. Fanny Fulbright, a.k.a. Numbuh 86, the current Global Tactical Officer for the Kids Next Door, had just walked in, a clipboard firmly grasped in her left hand, her face as furrowed with anguish as that of Numbuh 362. "I conducted the review of our weapons arrays exactly as ye ordered, Numbuh 362, sir. They're all green across the board... but I more than likely wouldn't have yelled at any boys who'd messed somethin' up."
The KND Supreme Leader looked over Numbuh 86's report, set it at her desk, and began to walk out, but not before giving one last set of instructions to keep the normal flow of business going as far as it could. "I'm going out to get some air. Fanny, you think you can take charge of the Moonbase until I get back?"
"Aye, sir. If anything else happens, you'll know." With a sigh followed by one last salute, 86 wished her immediate superior and long-time friend off and Rachel McKenzie walked off in the direction of the personal spaceship hangar, leaving Fanny and the five operatives of Sector V standing by themselves in that office. Other than Kuki's sobs of despair mixed with stark fright, absolute silence reigned over the next few moments.
"W-wally... I'm s-s-scared..." sniffled Kuki softly as she tried to stop crying on her best male friend's shoulder... to no avail.
"Numbuh Five totally agrees with you, Numbuh Three, but we gotta be strong. We can't have the younger operatives gettin' upset by what just happened," Abby spoke up at hearing Kuki's cry.
"I hear ye, lass," sighed Fanny. "I don't think we've ever seen THIS level of evil before."
Hoagie could only nod his head. "Yeah. At least Grandfather made everything all 1920s-ish. These bad guys would use modern technology to decimate every-- Hey, where'd Numbuh One go?"
Hoagie, Abby, and Fanny looked around, leaving Wally to comfort a still-sobbing Kuki as best he could. Sure enough, the leader of Sector V was nowhere in sight. He'd apparently walked out of the office while they were musing over these utterly heartless attacks taking the lives of at least 3,000 men, women, and, yes, even children.
"Knowin' him, probably to give Numbuh 362 some encouragement," answered Fanny in observation. "That boy certainly has a penchant for wantin' ta cheer her up when she's feelin' down." She began to crack a small smile on her face. "It's a penchant they'll need more than ever after this, that's for sure."
"Amen, girl. Amen," affirmed Abby. "I'm gonna head to the cafeteria to think this headache off."
"Good idea. Maybe I should go see if there are any 2 by 4 devices I need to fix. See ya, guys," Hoagie offered. "What about you, Numbuh 86?" He had a slightly... different word and tone in mind, but the current situation was far too serious to justify using it.
Fanny sighed as she considered her options at that point. "I'll be in me office if ya need anythin'. I'm not sure when Nigel and Rachel are gonna return."
"Right," Abby accepted the Irish girl's answer as she began to head to the cafeteria. "See ya later, Numbuh 86. Stay cool."
Fanny smiled at the stout boy wearing goggles and the smooth-talking girl with a red cap perched on her head as they walked out of the Supreme Commander's office and then in separate directions, then followed suit back to her own office. All that time, though, Kuki had been hugging Wally -- still tightly but not as before -- as both of them turned their eyes toward the still-revolving Earth, no doubt as completely aggrieved and outraged by the monstrous attack on those twin skyscrapers by now as they and their comrades, nay, their friends were since they first learned just what happened.
"W-wally... do you think the Earth's gonna be okay soon?" Kuki questioned in a small voice as she nuzzled her left cheek against Wally's right.
By now, Wally's eyes now hardened into a look of total determination. He mentally vowed never to let any of his friends down no matter what, especially the girl whom he strangely developed a crush on during their adventures as Sector V operatives. "I don't know, Kooks..." He permitted himself a small smile as he turned to her. "But at least for now, we've got each other, right?"
Kuki nodded happily while Wally began to grip her hands, which were clasped tightly onto his left shoulder. They stared out into space at the still-beautiful blue-green planet, the office of the Supreme Commander of the Kids Next Door completely still and silent around them. They were unaware of the details of the callous villains who had unleashed this unconscionable massacre on people who were simply going about their daily business, but Wallabee Beetles and Kuki Sanban would ultimately not be deterred. Their love for each other would light the way for their friends aboard the Kids Next Door Global Command Moonbase, thus augmenting in this truly dark hour the solidarity of the Kids Next Door.
THE END
Well, to quote Porky Pig, "that's all, folks." The major characterizations I could think of for the Kids Next Door in reaction to the September 11 airplane terror strikes. Panda Warriors, please feel free to comment.

I got it. So I've been reflecting on my tastes in music in the context of my favorite 'Codename: Kids Next Door' couples, and wouldn't you know it? Smile.dk's "Dragonfly" features a girl who is singing about how much in love with her boyfriend she is, such that she feels like she's flying "like a dragonfly" -- in a cutesy, high-pitched voice. In other words, that song almost instantly reminds me of Kuki. Any other Wally/Kuki song recommendations I will note for future references. Feel free to fire away.

That's a thought... because we generally call it 3/4 a lot more than 4/3, shouldn't it be Kiwa? Or even Kuwa? I like them all xD

Talk about drama. So, anyway, Panda Warriors, I'm thinking of a story involving a plan organized by Nigel and Rachel... to get Wally and Kuki to admit their feelings for each other. Finally, this morning, my memory reveals to me a most excellent vehicle for this plan: William Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet.' Selections for the roles of Lord and Lady Montague and Lord and Lady Capulet are already duly noted. I will and you can thank the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for providing the online text of this literary masterpiece. As a little treat, allow me to imagine the final line for this whole production:
Whatever KND operative Nigel and Rachel picked to play the Prince: "Never was a story of more misery than this of Kuki and her Wallabee."

Either "C7" or "C7Angelo" is fine. As for 'Romeo and Juliet,' leave it to me to dissect it as thoroughly yet simply and directly as I can.

All right, Panda Warriors. Here it is: the introduction of Nigel and Rachel's plan to use William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet to "persuade" Numbuhs Four and Three to admit their love... and finally halt any further mayhem caused by their arguments, fights, and chases on the Kids Next Door Moonbase. (My Courting Commanders thread post containing this story may be strikingly similar.):
"Wallabee and Kuki" Chapter 1: "Nigel and Rachel's Plan, Part 1"
"So, Rachel, how's the paperwork been these past two months?"
"Actually, Nigel, a bit more quiet than I'd like. It's as if all of our regular enemies have gone quiet."
Nigel Uno conversed with Rachel McKenzie as they walked down one of the corridors of the Kids Next Door Moonbase. They were a bit disturbed by the almost total lack of activity from their normal adversaries, from Father to the Dodgeball Wizard to the Candy Pirates to Gramma Stuffum to Mr. Wink and Mr. Fibb to the Toilenator to Robin Food. Needless to say, these adversaries were of various shapes, sizes, and penchants, but they, in their own respective ways, all despised the Kids Next Door.
"Not a single attack even by those Delightful Children?" Nigel inquired in disbelief.
"That's right. With the appearance of this 'Al Kayduh' person, they've simply up and dropped off our radar," Rachel affirmed.
Nigel immediately recognized Rachel's point -- and felt his blood begin to boil. Two months ago, an organization that Kids Next Door operatives now knew as "Al Kayeeduh" or, in her case, "Al Kayduh" changed the rules quite dramatically with the now-infamous "Great New York City Airplane Massacre," which claimed two of the KND's best spies... along with almost 3,000 men, women, and children in what used to be the tallest twin skyscrapers in all of North America. Its leader appeared two days later and launched into a diatribe vowing the complete annihilation of the United States of America as the first step toward achieving his all-too-inhuman vision for the world -- a vision that, to Nigel and Rachel's minds, made Grandfather look nice: people jailed for owning a television, listening to music, or searching for lost pets; girls and women absolutely forbidden from any type of interaction in school; men rounded up to have rocks thrown at them because their beards weren't the proper color; children imprisoned for attempting to fly kites or play tag. The regular adult villains most likely were still reeling from their betrayal and eventual Senior Citizombification by Grandfather and thus decided to simply cease whatever activities against the Kids Next Door they were previously engaged in upon hearing that tirade. The two prominent Kids Next Door operatives, now considered a couple after they returned to the Moonbase together in Rachel's ROADSTAR after separately heading down to Earth to view the still-smoldering rubble of those twin skyscrapers, neared an intersection and began to cross it, knowing that the Supreme Commander's office was just down their current corridor.
"Those barbarians..." Nigel snarled to himself as he felt himself clenching and shaking his fists. "I sincerely hope they never dare to even think of attacking this Moonbase. If they do, I--"
WHACK!!!!! Nigel never got to finish that thought, because at that moment, he and Rachel were broadsided by a shorter boy who was obviously trying to desperately run from something. His Supreme Commander -- and now-girlfriend -- now sprawled on top of him, his arms splayed in front of him, and his trademark sunglasses now slightly crooked from their normal position atop his nose, Nigel could only groan to himself as he heard the other boy call out, "SORRY, MATE!!!!", before disappearing down the intersecting hallway. He opened his eyes slightly and turned to Rachel.
"Are you okay, Rachel?" Nigel asked in a voice laden with concern but also astonishment.
Rachel nodded, her eyes opening slightly, as well. "Yeah... What was tha--"
"YOU'RE GONNA PAY FOR DESTROYING POOR WITTLE MR. FLUFFY-WUFFYKINS, NUMBUH FOUR!!!!!!"
The bald British boy and the shoulder-length-blonde-haired American girl turned their heads toward the direction of that rather cute roar... and saw a girl with flowing black hair race down the same intersecting corridor in the exact same direction as the short-mushroom-blonde-haired boy, her arms raised as menacingly as they could be. Rachel got up and immediately sat back down next to Nigel, signaling to her companion -- and now-boyfriend -- to do the same thing... her command helmet now sitting on its side some distance away in the intersecting corridors. What had happened THIS time? Nigel tried to reach over and gently help Rachel off the floor, but he had no other choice than to grab her by the shoulders and pull her against the wall on his side as they heard and then saw two more kids come barreling down the exact same corridor the first impact had sent them flying into.
"Numbuh Three, wait!!! Stop!!" the portly boy wearing goggles that were attached to a pilot's helmet yelled into the rectangular void ahead of him. "You and Numbuh Four might end up hurting somebody!!!" If only he'd stopped to take a look at just who Numbuh Four ran over at that intersection.
The girl wearing a red cap on her hand sounded a bit out of breath as she and the boy continued bolting down said rectangular void in order to find their two diametric friends. "Numbuh Five is really gettin' sick of these fights and chases!!"
(Author's note: "diametric" means "completely opposed" -- a rather apt description, I should say, of Numbuhs Four and Three's personalities.)
With that, the duo chasing after Numbuhs Four and Three continued their attempted sprint, leaving Nigel and Rachel to their own devices, staring down the corridor that they just vanished into. The Sector V leader let go of the KND Supreme Commander and sat against the wall as both kids eventually caught their breaths.
"What for the life of me was that all about?" Nigel questioned dryly.
"I have no idea, but it's definitely not a scene I'd expect out of Romeo and Juliet," exhaled Rachel.
The last three words she spoke wandered around Nigel's mind for a few moments... and then clicked perfectly into their place. He slowly turned his head toward her, his eyebrow raised at her possible idea. "What did you just say, Rachel?"
"Romeo and Juliet, Nigel. I'm a bit surprised you haven't heard of it," responded Rachel.
"Okay..." nodded Nigel in slight affirmation. "What is it?"
"It's a tragedy written by this William Shakespeare guy about two lovers who have to overcome many obstacles to keep their love for each other..." Rachel then sighed as she contemplated the play's inevitably grim ending. "However, they end up killing themselves to ensure that their love would be protected forever. But why are we just sitting here talking abou--" She stopped as her brown eyes detected a sudden mysterious gleam behind her bald British companion's sunglasses. "Huh? Something wrong, Nigel?"
The smirk on Nigel's face was unmistakable as he shook his head negatively, then turned back toward her. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking, Rachel?"
Rachel blinked her eyes in confusion... then understood. She, Rachel McKenzie, had just given Nigel Uno a brilliant idea for getting Numbuhs Four and Three, a.k.a. Wallabee Beetles and Kuki Sanban, respectively, to finally admit their long-obvious feelings for each other... and thus ending their almost constant bickering once and for all.
At least, so the Kids Next Door's most prominent couple thought and hoped.
END OF CHAPTER 1
Well, I'll need some time to think of Chapter 2. Until then, Panda Warriors, let the comments fly.
