Because SOMEONE had to do it, here it is:
THE (non-homophobic) SLASH HATERS CLUB! Kind of like The Friar's Club, only we flame slash, not comedians.
It's not that the members of this club are homophobes or anything like that. This club was created for the people like me who thinks that slash can take the characters WAY too OOC. This club also protects those people that like slash, because we have to realize that if we don't start a haters' club now, fangirls are going to take slash like they took 3|4!
So, let's start off with this: why do you not like slash, Numbuh LT? Well, let's look at it this way: slash fanfics are way too OOC. Numbuh 1 already has a girlfriend, and that's who most of the slash centers around.
Oh, by the way, here's the official motto of The SHC, for you signature:

There's nothing wrong with starting a "Society for the Protection of People Who Dislike Slash" or something like that, but flaming and hating is going a little too far. If you look at this section of the forums, you don't see threads like, "The Anti-3/4 Thread" or "The 2/5-Haters Club" or anything like that. I hope that we can avoid stooping to that. |

You dislike them JUST BECAUSE some of the fics are OOC? If that is ANY reason to dislike any sort of fandom/couple, then having an "3/4 Haters Club" or "Het Haters Club" would be a lot more justifiable. Why? Take a gander at FF.net. That place is FILLED with crappy heterosexual writers who completely ignore character, so why don't you start a club against that?
However, unlike you, I won't let a bunch of crappy fanfic writers and fangirls who overexaggerate ruin my opinion on something.
I'm not saying that you can dislike or have a different opinion on slash. I am just saying that you shouldn't start clubs like this. It is a waste of everyone's time, especially yours.

Why don't you make a pro slash club and we're even. the applicable analogy would to make an anti-het club. which is just as idiotic. because, like several people have mentioned, while it's cool and all if something isn't your cup of tea, deliberately going around bashing stuff because you're bored or don't have enough to do is just immature and rediculous. and you know it's bad when I, the great instigator, am proposing we lock this thread, due to the rampant stupidity (it BURNSES US) and violation of the no-flaming rule. which i am. |

I'm going to throw my lot in with those who think that the idea of a slash-haters club is a bit insulting (I'm not going to say "stupid" seeing as how that's unnecessarilly negative without giving a good justification). In promoting a club, you're essentially giving all pro-slashers a slap in the face every time they see your signature. That's prefectly fine that you have your own opinion and are proud to share it, but formulating a sort of movement against pro-slashers won't (and obviously hasn't) gone over very well. Furthermore, your reasonings behind the club are all the more bizarre. Slashing makes the characters OOC? As both a slasher and an avid 3/4 supporter, I actually think that the 3/4 fics tend to be more OOC than, say, the 1/4 ones who actually put thought into the pairing. There are MANY MANY more ways to make horrible OOC fics than just pairing people up. Also, fanfiction takes the dynamics of a show beyond the scope of what we see in canon, so pretty much anything is possible once it is justified. And I'm not even going to get into Nigel's slashariffic tendancies in the episodes themselves. Finally, your 1337 is incorrect (and no, writing in leet does not make you cool). well, you're a slash hater. Bouncing onto the other side of the spectrum... Aidanater, if you want tollerance for slashers, maybe you should try respecting other peoples' opinions first? ~Regan |

I have seen you people come and go, but you, "NumbahLT" just make me sick. If you cannot just let things go by, even though you dislike it, things would be fine. I mean, really. You have only one other person backing you up, and about 5 other people yelling at you. I happen to like slash. I happen to dislike 3/4. You don't see me..er.. being mean about it. Please.. you people really need to just take opinions seriously.
