Aw geez. This is the stupidest thread in the entire forum. And I'm not even a slash fan! I mean, we had a few spammers here and there, but at least those threads were somewhat entertaining. This is just... no. You ought to know better than that, you should have known what a thread like this would cause. If you didn't, you know now. Look, it's okay to not like slash, heck like I said I'm not a fan, either; but this is not the way to go about it. You are only giving non-fans of slash a bad name, and angering slash fans (further).
So a lot of people want this locked. All right. If you folks REALLY want this locked, rather than discuss this further, then that's what I'll do.
EDIT: Oh, and don't try the "This is all a joke, we're just kidding" route.

wow... This is sad.. *sigh* This is not right, its ok to not like slash.. but still, the people who like slash DO NOT FORCE YOU TO LIKE IT AS WELL. Its your opinion of what you like, and thats fine you are not a slash liker, but just because you don't like it doesn't mean its not good, ok or in character. I for one like 2/4, and quite a few non-slash couples, but this is about keeping peoples feelings from being hurt. Its not fair to hurt someones feelings for your feeling good about it.

0_0 let's just say that you made it: the most pointless club in the world. And if you hate slash because of the fanfics based on, why don't you do a OOC-fic-haters club (sounds a bit dumb, I know...)? It's good to have your own opinions, but still...

Bouncing onto the other side of the spectrum... Aidanater, if you want tollerance for slashers, maybe you should try respecting other peoples' opinions first? ~Regan i'm not saying that mockingly, i'm just making a point.

I'm failing to understand your mission statement, because it seems to be a general contradiction of itself. So you're proposing a slash-hater's club, assumedly against all slash of any kind, yet you state that you want to protect slash from being OOC. So wouldn't that make it an OOC Slash-hater's club? If that's the case, it's rather foolish, and tactless of you to discriminate against the slash fanbase as a whole.
I'm getting really tired of people stereotyping fangirls, being a proud fangirl myself. Not all fangirls make characters into the angsty, tight-leather badboys of fanon lore. Fangirls as an entire group don't make characters OOC. In fact, many fangirls advocate for canon just as much as fanboys do, but just because something doesn't actually happen in the show, doesn't mean it's OOC. That's the whole point of fanfiction and fanart and all other forms of fandom creativity. It's taking the formula of the show to create your own adventures. There are some that delve into fanon, but many do not. Moreover, simply poor writers can make characters OOC, and that can be anyone at all, pro-slasher or not.
Furthermore, this fandom is Codename: Kids Next Door. Most of the key characters in this show are barely teenagers. If the fandom shipped these characters as they are, as ten year olds, then there would be some issues, seeing as how a ten year old's true lovelife is (or should be) non-exsistent, aside from flirting and pretend-marrying, as kids will do. That's why there HAS to be some changes when it comes to shipping, and usually the only change is making them older in age. As long as their overall personalities are preserved, there's nothing OOC about it. Besides, how do you know that none of these kids are gay? Again, they're ten years old. None of them will probably know if they're gay or not in at least another few years, until they reach puberty. Maybe one day Nigel will realize that girls don't give him that heady feeling quite like boys do, and that his dating Lizzie was only what he thought should've been normal. Then again, maybe he won't. We use our own personal interpretations of the series to stimulate our creativity. Not everyone will agree with one interpretation or another. But that's what makes the fandom fun.
I disagree with your club, but I don't think it's stupid; rather, just ill-conceived.

i'm not saying that mockingly, i'm just making a point. I realize that... but a point of what? That slash-haters' opinions in this thread don't count? Iguana obviously knows that he doesn't like slash, so why restate the obvious other than to make him feel inadiquate or stupid for his personal opinions? Again, nothing is "stupid" without a good justification. ~Regan

And they say I flame people... Yeah, I agree with you here. There's no need to call people outright stupid. Why don't you make a pro slash club and we're even. Um... You're missing the point entirely. The point is, WE DON'T HAVE "ANTI-_____ CLUBS" HERE. I hope it's okay if I lock this. If anyone has objections, PM me.
