I know there are fancy programs that specialize in making avatars.. But i don't know any.. I use Photoshop. Do you have photoshop? If you do, i can walk ya through step by step.. it's really easy, But then again, i make really generic-looking avatars LoL ;D

Alright, for example, Say you wanted to make this pic- ( img.photobucket.com/albums/v494/codemodule/numbuhs/numbuh2/ahoagiepic.jpg ) Into an avatar.. First, You open up photoshop. go to FILE > NEW (width = 80 pixles) (height = 80 pixles) Then, either open up the image you want, or, (since the numbuh 2 pic is on the internet) just drag it straight from the webpage, onto photoshop. Make sure you have the "Move tool (v)" Selected, and click on numbuh 2, and drag him over to the 80x80 square... Then go to EDIT > FREE TRANSFORM There will be a small box around the image, that you can squish your image to proportion.. PRESS & HOLD SHIFT TO KEEP IT PROPORTIONAL ;D If you press & hold shift, you won't get the "Squished" effect ;D Then, go to FILE > SAVE FOR WEB, and select JPG.. Save it, and you've got a lovley avatar, ready for use! ;D

In the tool box, the verry top right-hand tool, is the move tool.. it looks kinda like your regular pointer
If you hit the letter "V" on your keyboard, it should automatically select the pointer tool ;D

Hmm, It should..
Try hitting the next step, Free transform. If it dosn't let you free transform it, then try going to IMAGE > MODE and make sure it is in RGB, and not indexed, or Greyscale ;D
If that dosnt work, take a screenshot of the problem, and i'll try and figure it out ;D
Ps, hey, what version of photoshop are you using? 7.0?

You'll need to upload your image to a hosting site like Photobucket. Once you sign up for an account, it will let you upload any image file you want from your computer to it.

This topic is more old than the ancient Egyptians, NumbuhSix. And in case you didn't kind of notice, she has an avatar.
