personaly I'm not for it, many cartoons that got made to live action have failed, even with a great mind like Mr. W I don't think it could be pulled off.
and the casting is one of the main reasons, I don't think even if they had kids for the roles that they could ever compair to the KND tv series. (and just to throw this in, the couples in the show would be a lot stranger XD)
when I was talking about the voice actors/voice actresses I wasn't meaning that they would be you know puting in the voice, I think it'd be awesome to have the adults play the opratives, course I didn't think of the double voice actor XD
I just don't think they should do it, they should make the script and turn it into another movie like ZERO, that's what I'd prefer a whole lot more ^_^
about the avatar live action movie o.o....I'm not looking froward to it...o.o

I would be worried about a project, Its an easy flop unless it is done really carefully and well 0_o. That and I would be worried about, whats a better word for cheesieness? Oh well, I'll stick to that one.
Also Father would have to be CGI'd? If you ever seen Maurice Lamarche (No offense, I love his voice acting) but he simply does not have a Father like build, shall we say. Assuming Father would be in the film.

I always pictured Crispin Glover (Back to the Future, Willard, Charlie's Angels) playing a live action father. He's got the right look and he's creepy enough.

Hes certainly creepy enough, I would think however that Father should still be voiced by Maurice LaMarche, I can't imagine Father without that cool voice.
Intrestingly enough, Random triva: Crispin Glover's Father played Mr Wint who of course became the inspiration for the KND villian Mr Wink!

Mr. W plans for the movie to center on a completely different sector just out of reasons you mention. I don't know about Father, though. CG seems like an adequate solution.

Maybe they can CG father using motion capture like in Gollum in Lord of the Rings. So Glover could still play him, but Maurice could still do the voice.

It'll be awesome, so long as they don't go cheep on making it, and having it turn out looking like an episode of lazy town... good show, mind you, just... I hope it's a little bit real looking ^^ and that they choose good fitting kids to play the roles. I really hope they do some kind of big knd look-a-like try-out, so kids all over the world could send in tapes or they hold a contest or something like that That'd be fun to see Maybe they'll be able to find a guy to play Father that does a good imitation of his actual voice ^^ I'm sure some actor could pull the voice off, since my dad imitates Father's voice all the time and does it pretty well, and he's not even an actor. ;D

It sounds like a good idea, but I don't think a KND Live Action Movie would bode over too well. Personally to me, KND is a cartoon, so it should stay a cartoon.

Okay, focusing on a new team could work, it could be good, just like how the X-Men was still good when most of the original cast left and was replaced by newcomers in the 1970s. But I have my doubts. Arguably the worst episodes of the cartoon were the ones that didn't feature Sector V as the main characters, with the third worst being ones that featured only one or two of the main five characters (second-worst, obviously, is any episode whose plot revolves around Rainbow Monkeys). And they're using Worst Type A in a live-action movie. Maybe I'll be surprised, but I doubt it.

Why on earth are they gonna focus on another Sector entirely? In fact, why is this live-action? There are too many things on KND that just won't work in live-action, IMO.

I think you've just answered your own question. If the live action movie focuses on sectors that we know of in the cartoon show, then it just won't work. A real kid playing Numbuh 1 will not look as good as his cartoon counterpart. That is why a new sector is needed in order to carry on with the story and to distinguish itself from the show, but still relevant to the Kids Next Door principals. I could see another similarities with the Matrix with this movie idea. "Final Flight of the Osiris" is still the Matrix and yet they managed to make it relevant to the storyline, but with different cast and different medium of storytelling - they used CG. I think they're applying this method with the KND movie.global

oh wow.... Oo An entirely new sector? Well, I can kiss my chances of seeing the DCFDTL goodbye 9_9
But I guess I'd still love to see it. ^^ Warburton's a genious, he'll make it work. A KND movie beats another rip-off of Narnia, that's for sure...

I didn't know about this new sector. That'd be weird and different, but it would take away the threats of ruining the cartoon itself. I'm wondering how we would find it, being fans of the original cartoon characters, but I think we'd still enjoy it. The idea's the same, after all.
And like I said earlier, as long as they do it right, they've got the opportunity to use some spectacular CG effects - yes, including Father. I'm really liking the idea Pentical suggested about this.
