hey guys, did you guys hear that KND's thinking about a live action movie? O.o what are your guy's thoughts, I really don't know what to think.
I hope if they do make it that they'll use the voice actors/actresses, wait they're adults, can they do that have them as actors/actresses? I dunno I heard from Mr. W that he was thinking about it :/

I think it'd be kind of fun to watch. Only because Mr. Warburton had a hand in the script. If he hadn't, I'd be sitting here going "Nuhuh, no way, ain't gonna happen! Never!". With him on it, I actually REALLY would want to see it. Plus if it did well, maybe it would help to renew KND for another season.
Still...I'm curious to if the boy playing Numbuh 4 will actually speak with an Australian accent. He better be absolutely adorable if he wants to be Wally!

This has been in thought for over a year now, and all I've officially heard about it is that they're working on a storyline. And storylines for movies sometimes take a very long time to write (random: it took 10 years to write the script for "Corpse Bride"!) so it might be a while yet. I'd love to see the real life treehouse and all the 2x4 technology, that'd be really awesome. But unfortunately, live-action movies can sometimes bring down the whole show (even if the cartoon itself has ended) so there's still that risk. I have faith in Mr W and Curious Pictures though, I really think it could work! Also, I don't know whether they'd do this or not, but I think it'd be great if they used actors the same nationality as the characters. I'm sure after holding a bunch of auditions around the world they would find the perfect cast! Besides that, some of the characters (e.g. Numbuh 1 and Numbuh 2) are voiced by the same person. ;D

If this movie is shown when they're adults, Numbuh 5 would DEFINITELY be played by Halle Berry. Yeah.

(random: it took 10 years to write the script for "Corpse Bride"!) That's nuthin'. It took THIRTY YEARS to make "The Thief and the Cobbler!" <tangent>And that ended up bombing all because the execs made a last-minute script change and decided to turn it into a musical, which the creator NEVER INTENDED.</tangent> Back to the subject of a KND Live-action movie... it IS very possible to use Child Actors to actually play the roles, then use a different set of actors to provide the voices. This was done for the live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies. That being said, I don't see them doing this for a Kids Next Door movie. Hollywood is all about cutting costs and two voices is something of an unnecessary expense. Besides which, what sounds fine on a cartoon would not necessarily work in live-action. I mean, in a cartoon you can overlook the fact that Nigel, Wally, Hoagie, and Abby all have voices no real ten-year-old would have, but it would stick out like a sore thumb if you heard those same voices synced to the lips of a real kid. Personally I see no hope for a live-action movie. Even with Tom working on it, the very fact that they were talking of a live-action movie before the second season came out just reeks of "cash-in attempt." And anyway, KND has a lot of stuff that just wouldn't make sense if it wasn't animated. Father for example, or all those fights where the KND get flung through the air like rubber bands. Also, I can't help but suspect that this "live action movie" will be one of those CN original movies, like Re-Animated, and not a theatrical feature.

That'd be funny if the DC were in it. Seeing the DC in real-live version would be kinda funny.

I think it was here or maybe it was somewhere else that said if they were coming out with a live action KND movie now Dakota whatever the heck her last name is should be Numbuh 362.

I have mixed feelings about this, but it leans toward to a 'no'. The reason is that many cartoons to real life adaptations are unbearable to watch and horrible in execution. Take example like Scooby Doo for instance. Try as I might, I couldn't even force myself to enjoy the movie. And the rumors of an Avatar movie just sent chills down my spine the first time I heard it.
On the other hand, I feel there is hope for the movie. Case in point: The Transformers movie is looking great judging by the trailer, and I'm looking forward to it. But consider this, they have powerful people backing the production, and a live action Kids Next Door movie would look great if it was done by the proper people in Hollywood.
Other reasons for me to say no to a KND movie is casting. As JamesEightBitStar said earlier, it'd be hard to find a kid with a suitable voice, charisma, and attitude to play the famous operatives. They may look the same, but will they portray them exactly like the ones in the show? As much as I want to see Dakota Fanning as #362 or some Jake Lloyd look-alike as #4 or Bill Cosby as Abby's dad, I'm afraid it'll be awkward seeing them act like that. Well, maybe not Bill Cosby.
And as for the real-life 2x4 technology, I think I'm satisfied seeing them in action in those fillers during the commercials and in-between episodes.global
