Heyy all. I'm Marty522, and I'm pretty thrilled to be a part of this community. I love KND, and it's always nice to find people with similar interests, right? Anywho, I'm here after a recommendation from catspats31, so thanks for that. Donno what all to tell ya. I'm 21 and a sailor. I'm not very good with intros. lol Well, I'm a gamer, a reader, a (very casual) musician, stuff like that. I'm also a writer, and I currently have a couple KND fanfics in the works: The Saccharine Exposure and Operation: S.E.C.R.E.T.S.A.N.T.A. I also have a oneshot up, Hoagie's Assurance. I'm pretty much a kid at heart, which is probably at least part of the reason I love KND so much. Welp, that's all I got. Glad to be here, ladies and gents. Hope everyone has a great day. EDIT: Typos. Silly me.

I'm Argentine Swordman's Mate and I've been here for almost four years and I welcome you to the forums!
You're a sailor? Where do you work exactly? I'm a culinary specialist on the USS John C. Stennis (CVN-74).

Yayy, people! lol Sorry if my responses are kinda sporadic, I'm actually deployed right now, and so my free time itself is very sporadic at best. If you need me for anything, I check my PM inbox over on FF.net pretty often, since I tend to be pretty sociable. lol
@ Argentine Swordman's Mate: Yepp, US Navy as well. I'm an electronic warfare operator on the USS Jason Dunham (DDG-109). Glad to meet another KND fan in the fleet, I knew there had to be more than just myself. lol

I'm glad you did read over the PM inbox on FF.net. Do you like watching "The Bum Reviews" with Chester A. Bum? If so, would you like to imagine if Chester A. Bum or someone doing a version of him does a "Bum Review" on your favorite fanfic?

I've only seen a few of his videos, but I think they're pretty hilarious. I'd be down for watching a fanfic review from him/someone like him.

I've only seen a few of his videos, but I think they're pretty hilarious. I'd be down for watching a fanfic review from him/someone like him. You won't be seeing a fanfic reviewed by him on video. I will pretend to be like Chester A. Bum in regards to reviewing a fanfic. Here is the link below to see a preview of how I'm going to do it: www.fanfiction.net/s/4992395/1/Bum-Reviews-Phineas-Ferb-the-Love-StoryAs for what fanfic I'm going to do a "Bum Review" on, you'll have to wait and see. I might choose to do one on KNDFANGIRL's "The Dance" someday, seeing that it's one of your favorite fanfics of all time...

Well, yeah, I figured it wouldn't be him. lol
I'd recommend "The Dance" to anyone (assuming it's your kind of story). I haven't had the chance to read too many others, but it still stands out to me. I admit it's not my usual preference of story, but I'll enjoy anything as long as it's well done.

So, you're on the Jason Dunham? Who is the guy that the ship is named after? Are you on deployment and are you trying to get your surface warfare pin? I certainly am on deployment and trying to get my surface pin.

Yepp, the good ol' JD. It's named after the late Corporal Jason Dunham, who was killed in Iraq in 2004; his convoy was ambushed, and he jumped on a grenade to save the other men with with. He was posthumously awarded the Medal Of Honor. When we're in Norfolk, his parents come by the ship every now and then, and help out with MWR stuff. I've met them, they're really cool, and really funny.
No, I'm not getting ESWS. It's a long story. Basically, I was on another ship (USS James E Williams, DDG 95 aka The JEW*) for a year and a half before I came here. I was almost ready to do board for it over there, when I was forced to crossdeck over here, where they told me I'd have to start over, despite the two ships being the same class and almost identical. There's a lot more to it, but it really boils down to bad circumstances and lack of motivation. But, that's just me. How hard is it to get qual'd for it on a carrier? At least on smallboys like this the crew is small enough to know everyone. I can't imagine having to track down strangers for training.
*Disclaimer: It's just a joke about the initials, nothing racist or worth anyone getting offended about it. lol
