The Lavender Town Syndrome?

I have just recently learned about this...and I'm intruiged by it IMMENSELY!

To first understand this syndrome, you must understand what Lavender town is, and it is the creepiest thing in a childrens game. Essententially a mass graveyard for pokemon, the tower is literally filled with grieving trainers who's pokemon are dead and burried. Did I also mention that Cubones mother was killed there, and that skull on his head is his mothers skull....I mean that's just wierd in itself. I've also heard but have not been able to confirm that your rival, Garry, is really there because you killed one of his pokemon on that boat level....

Anyway, Lavender Syndrome is somewhat of a rumor and only works on the original Game Boy "Red and Blue" version. The Lavender Town song combined with the atmosphere itself was said to have a psychological effect on children and the creators didn't realize it because the testing group was adults. Apparently the original song (Which is taken out of the GBA remake) has an extremely high frequency that only children can hear due to non-developed ear-drums that pushes out severe depression. As it turns out, after the game was released many children had commited suicide due to the song and explains why it was taken out from the remake and recalled as far as I know.

But I've actually been thinking of writing a fanfic about this strange....rumor or urban legend. Possibly an actual Pokemon fanfic that takes place in Lavender town (Which I would have shut down and blocked off due to what it is)

... Uhh... The syndrome is just a fake story to make people freak out. And I've listened to both Japanese and English releases, I see no difference in the ST.

And don't bother writing a fic. The creepypasta community is dying as it is cause of Pokemon.

Also heard of another one about snow falling on Mt. Silver and creepy looking things in there....not that I do believe it at all -_- I mean maybe some sick a-hole stuck the snow thing in the game but I swear it can't really be there, someone would have picked it up.

As for the syndrome, I just thought it was an interesting piece of info that I had found out on accident. I've actually just listened to the original and the American remake release and the only difference is the instrument they play instead and the fact that one is music and one is 8-bit beeping.

And I don't know about not writing the fic, as a horror fan I actually kinda want to just for the sillyness of there being -horror- in pokemon (Not that pokemon isn't creepy enough as it is with some of it's monsters). That and because I would love to impliment this idea that the concept of it being haunted was all a hoax

The Lavender Town syndrome is an urban legend to explain why the music was changed. The original was too hard on the speakers. It might of caused a headache to a sensitive person at worst.
