Hi! I'm still in the Netherlands, but I'm at my cousins and just HAD to pass on this little note of intrest:
I have seen Kids Next Door, dubbed into Dutch.
XD
I saw the last bit of CAKED, the last half of LIZZIE, and all of No P in the Pool. My Voice Acting notes:
Numbah One: Bloody Hell, he's hilarious now. Since it would be difficult to make him speak in Dutch with an English accent, instead they gave him... a very macho-manly voice. VERY deep and manly. XD I laugh and laugh when hearing it. While it does sound like a "Leaderish" voice, it just so doesn't fit Nigel.
Numbah Two: Ick. He speaks with an icky sort of voice, and while it's hard to tell, I think he's also speaking non-standard Dutch. His voice sounds kinda... hicky, if that makes sense. It's not horrible, but it's not good either.
Numbah Three: Improvment! She sounds just like she did in the English; nice, cheerful, happy, etc., but without the screeching that Lauren Tom insists on throwing in. Mind, she still sounds hyper at times, but it doesn't kill my ear drums when she does.
Numbah Four: Hee hee hee. There's no easy way to describe our new, non-Austrailian Numbah Four, but here's my approximation: He sounds like a member of a boy band. He was a very cool, suave voice. XD
Numbah Five: God no! First, it sounds like she lost her voice completely and insists on speaking anyway. Second, she sounds like a guy. The first time she spoke, I wasn't looking at the TV, and I had no idea it was her speaking. It's a horrid voice, but thankfully she doesn't talk much.
Mr. Wink and Mr. Fibb: Perfect. They are even better, if possible, then they're American counterparts.
Delightful Children: Meh. They sounds good, but not as expressionless as would be nice.
Lizzie: I like it a lot better then her american voice! Lizzie sounds just like she is: Nice, but annoying and whiny. She does sound sincerly nice when talking to Numbah One, and you can see why he likes her, and when speaking with the others she sounds annoying, mean, whiny. Very good voice acting, if I do say so myself.
Other notes:
The episode titles have been removed, only now showing the title with a man reading it in Dutch. Understandable, because while everyone here speaks English the younger children can't read it.
The names have been changed, slightly. Instead of Numbah One, it's Numbah Een, and so on. Just a translation of the actual numbers into Dutch. Also, instead of "Nigey" it's become "Nig-y" (ryhmes with "Dig-y")
^^ And THAT's the Dutch KND dub.
