Me: Often in the show, whenever a vehicle or weapon makes its debut, the computer interrupts the action for about 10 seconds (shown below) or so while a computerized voice gives the vehicle/weapon's name and acronym.
Is this supposed to be a reference to something? I always thought this was a reference to the openings of the Roadrunner/Coyote cartoons where the action freeze-frames to introduce the characters and give a "faux" latin terminology ("actelleratii incredibilus," for example). Is my logic correct?
Mr. W: Nope. The 2x4 tech specs weren't references to anything. [They were] just excuses to give cool names to cool gear!
Me: Whenever I see Numbuh 1 and Lizzie together, I think of another cartoon couple from the 1990's. Are you familiar with Tiny Toon Adventures? Well, if you put Numbuh 1 and Lizzie and Babs and Buster Bunny side-by-side (shown below), you can see some symmery. Numbuh 1 and Buster both wear red sweaters, and Babs and Lizzie both wear yellow shirts and purple skirts. While I am aware of the subtle differences between them (Lizzie's cyan patch on the front of her shirt) I seem to be confused as to whether this was a coincidence or a deliberate reference.
Mr. W.: No... there was no intended reference between Numbuh One/Lizzie and Bu[ster]/Babs... although your screen grabs make a good argument for it!
(Thinking): There goes my whole "Lizzie and Babs shop at the same store" theory!
