Any fans of the musical/book Wicked? I'm more of a fan of the books myself. The musical left out ALOT, changed too many characters, and made Elphaba way to...well..happy. She's supposed to be distant and aloof in the book, and that's how it should stay. But, still...anyone a fan? Not to advertise at all, but I was thinking of making a forum dedicated to Wicked, since I have searched most of the net and there isn't one. I mean, Stardrifter made this forum for KND, I should be allowed to do the same if I feel passionate about Wicked.

I LOVE Wicked's music, but I haven't actually seen it. I really want to, though. I heard it was really good. Too bad Idina Menzel and Kristen Chenowith left, huh? Oh well, I bet the other actresses are good too.
I've also read the book, but I didn't care for it. I thought it was sort of slow and tedious in some parts, then racy and confusing in other. I liked the part where Dorothy confronts Elphaba in the end though, saying how she forgave her.

I've never seen it, nore read it. I heard it's good, and I basically know the very basic plot of the musical, an dit sounds good. It's comming to my town next year, so I might go see it. Along with Avenue Q(I'm dying to see that)
my mom really wants the book, but we can't find a copy in the library, and I don't think she wants to buy it.

I am a very big fan of the music, especially Defying Gravity and For Good. I haven't seen it nor read the books yet I read the script(or something) on Wikipedia and I thought it was nice. =)
I am still a fan of the music and storyline, though. ^^

Oh, well, I guess I'm the only novel fan. ^^;; I also adore it for the fact that so much ElphabaxGalinda is implied throughout the book. I mean, I still love ElphiexFiyero, but it DOES seem like the two girls had feelings for each other. Even better, Elphaba's son (Liir) is Bisexual. ^^ Smex scene in the sequel, Son of a Witch between him and another man. Wootness. The book has so many bisexual and gay/lesbian references and people in it, it's wonderful. It really is. I can't find many in literature. Even better, the man who wrote Wicked is married to painter Andy Newman. ^^ I am also very pleased to announce that the third Wicked cycle book is due out in October. A Lion Among Men, obviously about the Cowardly Lion as he searches Oz for information of Elphaba. Gregory Mcguire has also strongly implied that although Elphaba died in the first book, she will rise again!! ;D I'd also like to add, if any of you are interested in reading the novel, it is intended for adults as it contains language and adult themes. Happy hunting. @comsie: That's too bad she doesn't want to buy it, because I found ALOT of copies of it at Target. Same with it's sequel, Son of a Witch.

When I first heard about a prequel for the Wizard of Oz I was wicked excited (haha, wicked) but was kinda disappointed the more I looked into it on Youtube. I was expecting something more, I dunno, classic. *shrug* They're supposed to be in a magical fairytaleish land, and they're acting like modern highschool girls. From what I watched... I could be completely off.

Sadly, I've neither seen it nor read it, but I love the music. Great for animated music videos, too.

I started reading it a while back and put it down. The Wizard of Oz was a huge part of my childhood; I didn't want to ruin that.
