I just think we need a few new Mods because there are some Mods that we have that haven't been on in a really long time, so I think we should get a few new Mods to replace those old ones, cause those old ones ain't helpin the forum much.
Food for thought

I count four active mods: NumbuhInfinity, Comsie, Kimi and myself. Stardrifter is on every once in a while and so is Numbuh 1024. How many more do you think we need and why? I'm not saying no, mind, but things seem to be ticking along nicely as it is.

You know, if you guys do need an extra mod, I'd like to volunteer for the job.

I agree with 0xFF we don;t need 50 mods. And most of us are on every once in a while every day. I vote that we keep the mods the way they are. Also don't frget some of the mods have school. nd in someplaces its exam week

Maybe 1 or 2 Mods could fe fine. But to be honest, I don't think that asking for a spot isn't a good idea (in fact, one other forums I'm on, asking for a Mod job kills your chances). One should earn it by being helpful and a good member.
What I DO think , however, is that what you should do is de-mod the inactive staff members (D-ologist, Sammeh, etc.). Come on, what's the point in keeping them on the job if they haven't been here for who knows how long?

mods feel so powerful...I'm kinda of afraid of them ^^; I dunno....that's why I never mailed a mod before...I think... I respect them so much I'm kinda afraid I'll do something wrong in the PM and they'll get mad at me and well...I dunno why I don't want new mods what if some nice people I know become mods? (everyone is nice here but....^^; then what? I'll be afraid to mail them? yeah ^^; I have a couple of people on this forum who I PM and have conversations with...well I'm just saying I would wanna be a mod but nah...I rather be a regular Decomissioner ^^ yeah...hehe...

Sentimentality. Also: they aren't harming anyone, now are they?

I actually don't think we need new mods. The current ones seem to be doing a great job so far. Every time I visit there's at least one modly person online, and any problems/issues are usually cleaned up nicely and quickly. Seems to me the mods are running things quite smoothly.
I chuckle when threads like these pop out of nowhere, as it's usually the initial poster who wants to be a mod. (Not saying the same is true for you, Mariostar, I'm just saying that's usually the case.) It's as if they think becoming a mod will open some special, magical portal to unlimited rights and access and special treatment. They forget that being a mod takes a lot of work. You can't run around hitting people with the banhammer or closing people's threads, you've got to be fair and just and all that good stuff. I'm a co-admin on another forum, so I know that most of the job is board maintenance than anything else.

It's not like I pay mods or anything, and our staff board is pretty boring. Really. There's no super awesome party threads in there or anything. If problems do occur, then please feel free to help us out and let the mods know. Proboards still doesn't have a "locate problem thread" button.

I did think we could have more active mods, but yes, things do seem fine as they are. There's some arguments here and there but it's not all that horrible that requires an Army of Mods who be all they can be.
