OK, so to "up your ranking" like, go from a Cadet to a Legend... You have to post, right? Right. But, if you post a message, and then delete it, and post another message, and then delete it, it will still say that you did post those 2 times. Are you allowed to post and delete a bunch of times to "up your ranking".
I haven't done it, I just noticed it when I posted and deleted. Are you allowed to?

In short: don't even think about doing this. Ever.
It's cheating and, besides, it puts an dangerous level of strain on the forum software. Just Say No!

Cheating? I had no clue this was a game. It's cheating inasmuch it is subverting the system -- just like you can 'cheat' on a test or somesuch. And, as was already pointed out, some people take the post count quite seriously. Furthermore, the post count is a valuable moddish resource since it is a quick-'n'-dirty way of estimating someone's presence on the forum.

Most people just do it to get higher rank titles. Even if the next title was given at 10,000 posts, people would still be in a race to get there.

I was being sarcastic, I know what it'll do the system. I've been on other forums, and I know how the system works.

@aanf
It's okay -- whenever you feel uncertain about something: ask! Won't hurt and may as well help.
@dr. I
Moddy?
And I wasn't getting upset -- I was just explaining things -- had no way of knowing that you weren't at least partially serious.

Moddy is a nickname for the mods, it's not supposed tp be offensive at all. If it was, then thats my bad.

I was watching Teen Titans at the time, and there was a crazy science dude named Mad Mod. Somewhere in the episode, he said...
And you're a moderator/science dude... Well, you get the idea.

Hehe, he really is mad, that Mad Mod, and yes, this does seem like cheating on the system, I'd never noticed it, and certainately wouldn't use it to cheat the system
