Use this thread to post your opinions on the new rules. Also, this is the place to look for explanations of, possibly, unclear points.

I have a question. On the old FAQ's it says that the maximun image width is 600px; and in the new rules, it says 500px. Was the max width changed?
I'm asking this so I can remove my sig picture, since it's over the limit (595px to be precise).
EDIT: Shoudn't the old FAQ's be unstickied? With the new rule threads, they now seem obsoloete.

I unstickied the old FAQ. To answer your question - The picture with the 500px rule was on the main proboards site and was used to get our point across visually, but more for how large vertically it can be. Your sig is fine, We don't care too much about how large it is horizontally, as long as it doesn't stretch the page.

Very intresting, I think this is a very good idea. Keep up the work Stardrifter.
Edit: Probably a dumb suggestion, but some members may not know how to resize their signatures.

I have a suggestion - while there are specific rules of behavior regarding shipping, there's no mention of the very specific charx/chary threads (I think all the pairings have these?). The ones that are made specifically for the fans of that pairing and have fic/art/etc posted. Are there any specific rules regarding entering those threads and posting "I don't enjoy this paring this is why"? The arguments may be well reasoned, and thus not already covered under the rules, but it still seems rude to go in and rain on somebody's party when making general romance discussion/debate threads is so simple.

Ok.. -had looked at the dumbed down version of the new rules.. lol..- and it showed a picture about how big your sig can be. I used to have a sig and 1024 told me it was too big so I changed it.. but that picture is bigger area than what I had X___x but then I looked and it said that KB thing.. how do we know how much KB it is? Cause when I asked before I wasn't explained to what it meant and it just really pisses me off

Right click on the image and then click "Image Properties". You'll see there.

Could that have been it? If text and pic fits the rule, then I guess you can put it up again. To find out the KB size, (at least in Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers) you right click the picture and click "Properties". It should say how large the picture is. I'm not too picky about the KB size, but as long as it's not a gigantically large file. I tend to stay out of those threads, but if you would like us to put in a rule that is something along the lines of "please create a new thread if you have criticism of a certain pairing, it helps keep people happy", We can certainly put that in. I'll have to see what the other mods say, though.

Well I'm not opposed to the rule -- that is I think it is right. What I'm not so sure about is if it's needed. For now, I'll vote a tenative 'yes' but I'd like scone (or someone else wishing to participate) to further expound on the reason we really need the rule. On one hand it would stop the flamewars but on the other it'd kill a lot od the debates.

Well, I have no problem with debate - in an actual debate thread, or a "which paring, x/y or x/z?" thread. I guess my example of this would be that 1/Lizzie nonsense that happened a while ago - somebody started a debate thread about why they thought it worked, people argued, it was all well and good. However, wanting a thread not for debate but for fangirling and squeeing, I started an actual "1/Lizzie yay" thread like the ones we have for 1/5 and 2/5 and Father/Chubbo and such on. And debate followed us in. And darn, now it sounds like this is me being petty and whining, but I remember this having happened on other threads - I was around for the original few pages of the 2/5 thread and getting bashed about it there, too - and I don't think this happens often, but I still think it'd be a good thing to have codified as something that can be pointed to if we get a particularly fervent newbie or some such who wants to start debate in the middle of the 2/5 thread trying to talk about spawns or such. </too much information>

Hmm...I guess your are right. I'm for 'yes' on this provided the rule is only enforceable if someone complains. So if somone does show up you can either debate (provided you want to) or complain to the mods at which point said person gets chased off.
How does this sound?

Butting in here...We had people complain about us (the 2/5ers) getting off topic, and we chased them off.
I don't have any problem with debates--but I have a BIG problem with people complaining in threads and/or posting stupidity instead of a real argument. I guess what I'm trying to say is don't go in a thread to cause trouble (which is only common sense, but anyway...), and please use intelligent arguments if you wish to debate.

Okay, I have read through the FAQ, and understand them, I also want to say to please excuse any previous bad behaviour. Edit-I posted this comment on the other board, and can't seem to get it deleted, sorry about that.
