I take it you don't watch anime or Heroes. Or seen this video. "Yatta" basically means "All right!". Like when something good happens to you. For example, "I got an A on my math test! Yatta!"

Singing? That would be odd. We never learned how to say Merry Christmas in class I just realised

Pronunciation is exactly as it reads, actually...
You say like....
Go kazoku wa nan nin imasu ka? (how many people are in your family) exactly as you read it.
EXCEPT 'i' is pronounced like eeeeeeee and 'e' s like eh

I would love to speak Japanese. All I know is English, quite a bit of Spanish, and a little German.

My cousin took Japanese lessons in the summer and she taught me some words, like "Ohayou Gozaimasu!" and "Konbanwa!"and when I do something terribly wrong I say "Gomenesai". Though I'm not sure that is exactly the word for Sorry. I also know the honorifics like -san, -kun, -chan, -sama, -dono, and of course, I know kawaii and sugoi(I use it to cheer on my friends in a game), and sanban.

My brother plays a lot of Japanese games, and he remembers random sentences that means stuff like "Feel the wrath of the sand!" or "Pray to your god, for soon you will perish". Sentences he'll probably never get to use in real life. It's fun to listen to anyway.

I can say japanese if I read it out of paper. As you said, It's really easy to pronounce. But I know nothing of japanese. I used to pick up words from random anime shows before though. My cousin aced japanese language. She's even awarded for the best spoken japanese. Envy..

I may be shooting myself in the foot by replying to this, lol. Im new to this forum and new to America as well. My family and I are from Osaka, and since you are an Otaku Im certain you know where it is. You seem to have most of the basics down, what else did you need?

I only know a few words and phrases in Japanese, but sadly that's about it. My friend can speak Japanese, though; she does it around me all the time and I can only understand a few words.
