I wonder if anyone here plays the RTS King, the Command & Conquer series. Latest and better than ever since the screwed up Generals, C&C3 : Tiberium Wars.

I've played the original C&C and its sequel, C&C Red Alert.
I never really beat either one so I was never inclined to get into the sequels (I don't get into sequels until I've used up the predecessors).

Are you trying to follow the storylines? If you are, that's ok, I'm usually more interested in the gameplay itself. Especially I like the "Red Alert" series more than the "Tiberian" series.
When you're going for Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2, the gameplay seems improved, but Tiberian Sun is still old. But try Yuri's Revenge, it's the best one ever before C&C3 was released.
Not until when EA screw up the whole franchise when releasing Generals, it angers a lot of hardcore fans including myself for not being really C&C. But luckily EA learned their lessons after they read reviews from fans, and there's C&C3, with very supreme graphics and 3D animations. But still, EA did still miss out a few points which does angers a few fans.
1. Tiberium blossom trees replaced by fissures instead. 2. Veinhole creatures, Tiberian fiend and other Tiberian-related creatures are all phased out. Except the visceroid stays, but becomes a weaker fighter in C&C3 while Tiberian Sun is very deadly. 3. Theater of War is all wrong, they don't play correctly like in the prequels, especially Tiberian Sun. 4. Mutants don't play a big role in C&C3 anymore. 5. Not much of videos produced compare to the previous games, especially Tiberian Sun. It'll show new videos whether you mission accomplished or failed. Or a better example, since Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert 1, which they produce tons of more videos than the sequels if you look inside its data files.
etc...

Are you trying to follow the storylines? Its more like I'm trying to cut down on my game collecting, so I've told myself "no getting sequels until I beat the ones I already have." There's only a few exceptions, series I've been dedicated to for so long that I KNOW I'll stick with them until the end. Though I do like to play games in the order they were made.

I thought so, I know, I understand that you can't simply buy a lot of games, but just stick with a specific franchise will cut down your purchases on other games.
Take me for example, I wanted to buy the new Supreme Commander, but unfortunately, my mom told me not to play a lot of games, it may affect my studies, so I just stick to my favorite C&C franchise including the Starcraft RTS series, discarding my purchase on the Supreme Commander.
Go ahead, I'm sure you will be pleased when you play at least Red Alert 2, then you can proceed to C&C3. Anyway, what's your favorite series? Mine is the Red Alert series.
