Just to keep things fair, since there's already a King's Quest thread. Just got ScummVM (an emulator for old DOS-based games running on the SCUMM engine, www.scummvm.org/ for people that can't be arsed to check Google) and I can finally run stuff like Monkey Island and Sam & Max in Windows XP. Anyone here into this genre besides me?

As much as I love adventure games, oddly I've only ever played three LucasArts adventures, those being Sam and Max Hit the Road, Maniac Mansion, and The Dig.
However, I generally enjoyed all of them, and The Dig is one of my favorite adventure games, period. In fact, anyone who can.... PLAY THE DIG, NOW! Seriously, you have not seen "good storyline in a video game" until you've played The Dig.

I've got 4 games:
Monkey Island 3, Sam and Max: Hit the Road, Full Throttle and Maniac Mansion 2: The Day of the Tentacle.
Those are the ScummVM games I like to play frequently.

So, how did that tentacle's career on television work out for it anyway?

You mean how did world domination work out for it? Pretty well until Bernard and friends stopped it.

I think I have played most if not all LucasArts games -- and every single last one of them is awesome. The Dig is sheer joy to an SF fan like myself and features one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard in a video game. Monkey Island is...THE adventure game, of course. And Sam and Max is, I maintain, the funniest thing ever to be on a computer screen.
Which reminds me...there's a NEW Sam 'n' Max game out (on Game Tap), it's called Culture Shock and I can attest that it is a worthy sequel. PLEASE, go and buy now.
