I don't know, though Nintendo was never known for backwards compatibility before. That's a big reason why I'm saving for a PS3.

Considering huge backwards compatibility is one of the major reasons to get a Wii and that basically anyone with a bit of knowlege in it knows about it, I'm not sure if you're informed enough to reply to a thread like this. Anyway, yeah. It's backwards compatible with all major Nintendo consoles minus the Gameboy lineup and Virtual Boy (but who the hell would want to download virtual boy stuff?). Also you can download Megadrive (genesis to you amerians) games and some other console which I've never heard of. =p And on a completely different note, if you actually afford a PS3, a $250 more for a Wii and its nice looking launch titles really isn't that bad. Also, PS3's games are going to cost just as much as regular 360 ones if I remember corectly, so game price isn't that much of a problem.

Best. Game. System. Ever.
This is going to rock Sony and M$'s world so hard... They'll end up crying.

I suppose you mean the PC-Engine (Turbografx to us Americans). It's too bad not many Americans knew about that, as it was one awesome little doohickey. In Japan, it nearly beat out the Super Nintendo.

Ok thanks king kamek and iguana. That was the one thing I needed to know to see if it was worth buying. Because I have had my GC since 5th grade and I am in ninth so I collected a lot of games over that time period and I thought it would be a shame to have them go to waste because if I get a new game system I have to give my old one to my little brother. Because I had heard a LOT of mixed answers. The other systems are really expensive and the games will probably be like really high. Like the 360 is 400$.
