Gamefaqs.com is holding their annual Summer Character Contest where we vote for the greatest game character of all time. Go to gamefaqs, register, click on the Summer Contest link, and get to nominatin'. Here are my picks:

Garrett - Thief
James Earl Cash - Manhunt
B.J. Blaskowitz - Wolfenstein
Leisure Suit Larry - Leisure Suit Larry
James Patterson - Medal of Honor
Billy Lee - Double Dragon
ToeJam - ToeJam & Earl
Terry Bogard - Fatal Fury
Mike Haggar - Final Fight
Shinobi - Shinobi

Of course I'm not posting this to pressure you into nominating these characters or anything, especially trying to get you to nominate Garrett.

Actually, before you fangirls and guys stampede over to gamefaqs, here are some words of wisdom from the past 3 tournaments: by the simple nature of the gamefaqs demographics, Link (winner of 2 of the first 3), Mario, Sonic, anyone from any Final Fantasy, Mega Man, and Solid Snake are already pretty much guaranteed to be in it, so at least try to mix it up with some characters people would otherwise overlook.

The whole Gamefaqs Character Contest is just a big excuse for fanboys to gang up and vote for a character just so they can have "bragging" rights over the fans whose character lost. The fact that the first contest ended with Sephiroth vs. Cloud made me lose faith in the whole event.

Instead of posting a cynical comment about how much the idea of making a "best video game character" contest sucks, I'll just act like a retarded fanboy and vote Link from Wind Waker.
