Has Numbuh 2 become really popular lately? I noticed on the games on the official website that he's usually prominently featured on them lately, as either the main character or a large part of the "thumbnail" poster for the game.
Just had to get this out of my head.

I saw that two, though I have no idea why they would do that (he's my favorite character and I'm all for it, but it's still weird).

Yeah it is such a silly thing, but I just had to get it out. ;D
He's my favorite character too, but I always assumed 4 was the most popular character.
Maybe we're all underestimating Hoagie more than we should. For all we know, the whole doofus thing is just an act to get us all to like him for being the lovable underdog. Kind of like what I think about Luigi (you know, Mario, koopas etc). People say he's underappreaciated, but is he really? No, he's not, he just makes it look that way as part of his ingenius propaganda. ;D
Maybe I'm looking at it too much, but I don't mind it at all. Its just something I noticed. Maybe really, all of us, young and old, relate more with being "The doofus" more than anything, because in the end we're all doofus's. XD

XD Yeah, I'm pretty sure 4 is the most popular, and he used to be my favorite, but they kind of killed his character by branding him "the stupid one" when he's not really. Yeah, I know Luigi but it's really not the same. Luigi isn't a doof...he's not popular. And yeah, I've been in the doofus boat and seen many others in the doofus boat.

You see the thing wih Luigi is people say he's unpopular, but is he really? Everyone I speak too likes him better than Mario, every "oldschool" guy or girl liked playing as him better. People love to comment on how much he's loved underneath all the unapreaciation, and there's web shrines dedicated to him. Really..if you look at it from a full perspective, he's not unpopular or "underapreaciated" at all by the actual players, its all just assumed. I just made this joke about a year ago, that maybe he intentionally doesn't appear in many games, but makes a stylish cameo once in a while to get that "I'm the lovable underdog!" message across, so he could be the most popular character behind the scenes. Because the underdog usually always gets a massive cult following. He's almost riding his brother's name to get his own fame, he played us all for fools. ;D Realistically, most of it is just stuff Nintendo themselves say in games. So really, is he unpopular or are we just being convinced that he's unpopular? Propaganda's a fun thing to talk about. But on topic (But it was in league with the message board..so ha! ) Yeah, maybe more people young and old relate with 2 more than we think. Or maybe he's just the funnest looking character to put on cover's and stuff. ;D

All's I know is that I could never really find a difference between Mario and Luigi. So calling Luigi the "underdog" is kind of like calling a overweight man "big boned." Basically, it sound's good but it isn't true.
Propaganda's a funny thing.
But anyway, for all we know they might have just put all the charicters into a hat. Or put them up on a dartboard! ("OK, we need a charicter for all the KND games. It'll be *thunk* Number 2 and he'll be *thunk* using his fly wings in a *thunk* ice cream factory.)

Yeah, I noticed that. It seems like someone at Cartoon Network likes Two. To which I'm not complaining.
And just to follow the OT conversation: Luigi is the man. I always liked him more than Mario. It really must be that "loveable" underdog theme. Either that or I always played him better in Super Mario. Bottom line: Luigi's cool, yo.

Oh you know. In Mario and Luigi (The GBA RPG released recently) you know he's a player underneath that disguise of humbleness. ;D
2's awsome, but even if he wasn't, he wears goggles. So that means he's awsome by default. Goggles rock. ;D

And stuff. I'm totally with you on that one. When I was in Japan, I bought myself a pair of huuuuuge goggles. They are teh cool. I should take pictures. XD
