I'm disappointed by the ending. I can't believe Nigel's dad would let him go into space forever. I know the KND are (almost) all super-intelligent rocksome fighters but still... he's only 10. And it negates Mr. Uno's big speech in ZERO about how being in the KND was great, and he was sooo proud of Nigel, but now the ''most important mission'' to him was being a good father. It showed one of the big positives about growing up (raising a family) that you just can't experience as a kid. At the same time, childhood was also celebrated with Nigel signing the book "WE are Kids Next Door" and everyone standing proud together, the KND organization continuing forever (even if individuals grew up and left).
Moments like that with Nigel were awesome, but I still don't understand how he was the best operative on the whole planet. As Kuki and 363 pointed out, he rarely managed to liberate the Delightful's cake, and he didn't collect any items on the Scavenger Hunt, they were all given to him by Sonia. (I'd argue that her inspiring speech to Tommy in TRAINING about it being their chance to stand up to Father, and her insistence that she was on -everybody's- side and just wanted to share the reward with kids everywhere, made her the 'best' operative). And I can't get past the fact that once again, Nigel contemplated quitting the KND. At least in GROW-UP he was facing an unprecedented scenario and was over the age of 13, but I thought he learned then that age was irrelevant as long as you still believed in the things KND stood for. This was another BUTT-like whine: 'ooh, they have an embarassing photo of me! I should quit!' 'Ooh, 363 laughed at me and Rachel took me off a mission, I should quit!'
...I did love some of the characterization. Abby was confident and reassuring, and I prefer her in her more 'mortherly' moods than when's she off candy-hunting, all though that's pretty fun too. Wally had many cute moments, calling 363 "Beaver teeth", angering Spankulot and then trying to backpedal those insults, and it was a nice touch to have him looking "tough" during the goodbye. Kicking the ground, hands in pockets, he was doing his best to look as if he wasn't hurt by Nigel leaving but like his 'just a quarter' pretense nobody was fooled. (Canada in outerspace? XD That's how to show Wally is a little dumb but be cute about it, & not make him out to be a laughingstock)
Live action scenes were fun. LA Hoagie looks a lot like my dad. O__o Not sure if that's a good thing!
