So Hoagie Sr was the man who built the replusive trike, but he also made Hoagie's innertube Besty. He was good at making things, just like one of my uncles, who's also good at making things.

Well if he is not then why did numbuh 2 talk about him in past tense?

Just because we could find out what happened to him doesn't mean he's alive...

Well if he is not then why did numbuh 2 talk about him in past tense? Honestly I dont really know but whatever Mr.W has planned its usually crazy so maybe he is dead and maybe he isnt only time will tell.

Maybe they're divorced. I doubt that's the case, but it certainly would be an interesting development.
Not to mention it'd make Hoagie even cuddlier than he was when we found out about his chocolate sauce addiction.

You know, normally I don't like a character with a bunch of problems (addiction, divorced parents, etc), but with Hoagie, they just make me like him more.
Which confuses me greatly when I think about it.

Maybe Hoagie's obsession with general aviation is because his father is a pilot either for the air force or for the airline industry. The reason that he isn't around the house often may be because he's jetting around the world, or crash landed in an uncharted island with some survivors and as they wait for help to arrive, they try to unlock the mysteries of the island that they crash landed on.

Or that Hoagie Sr might had been flying the airplane through the Berunda Triangle, where boats and planes vanish without trace, or maybe his plane crash-landed in the dessert, or the snowbound area somewhere in Scandanavia, or in the Australian outback, or anywhere else, but may still be alive, I hope.

Yeah, I think it's plausible (and highly probable) that Gilligan Sr. is a pilot, Air Force or otherwise. From CAKED-FOUR, it's clear that Hoagie really looks up to his dad.
But since there's no real drama when his dad is mentioned, I don't think he's lost or dead. Just not there at the time for whatever reason.

I think that Hoagie Sr. would look like WHITEHOUSE's vice-president, the evil Hoagie Gilligan.
With the moustache and all.
