Note: This is someone's personal viewpoint that I found on a socially conservative Catholic site. Where do people come up with this stuff?
"Where were the men?" asks a woman about the mock nuns -- indicating too the fault of the laity. "That incident in San Francisco (gay guys dressing up as "bishops" and interrupting a Mass) never would have happened if the men were on their guard, doing their job ....protecting the women, the children and our Blessed Lord in the Eucharist.
"Enough is enough. It's time for women to start challenging their men to be men! Why were these two freaks allowed into the church? Why weren't the ushers doing their job? The Church is becoming like the kitchen. The women have taken over and thrown the men out. What are our young boys supposed to think when they see the old and not so old women on the altar as Eucharistic ministers, servers, and so forth? Men need to be visible on the altar as lectors, servers, Eucharistic ministers, and ushers. Sadly, in some parishes, the women have taken over as ushers as well. Then we wonder why our kids stop going to church. Things are out of order. Women need to be taught the importance of empowering and encouraging their men to take up their leadership responsibilities in the home and in the church. When are wives going to stand back and push their husbands forward to be the spiritual leaders?"
Uh, it's my Church too, lady. If my parish priest wants women to take an active role in the Church, who are you to say it's not proper? This isn't the Middle Ages, ya know. The calendar says 2007, not 1007.
Dunno where this woman thinks women belong, besides silently slaving away in the kitchen...
