I've never read any of the books, but the movie looks interesting. I'm not so sure I'll go see it in theaters, but I may rent it once it comes out on VHS and DVD

I've read some of the books. I really enjoy the series, and I'm looking forward to see the movie. I never really got all of Lemony's collection, but I managed to get a few. I might continue to read the other ones.

By the way, does anyone have any idea what era and where the books are set? My guess is 1920's Canada, judging from the whole Duchess of Winnipeg thing, and the fact that they have moving trucks...
...am I over-analyzing the series and the Unauthorized Biography or is this normal? o_0

I LOVED the original books...but I think the series is in a bit of a decline. Lemony Snicket's infamous "defining every single phrase" is funny at first, but it gets stale after a while. The earlier books had a lot more jokes than the later ones. Still, the later books do focus more on a continuing plot, which probably makes up for the lower amount of humor. And yeah, I'm looking forward to the movie. The movie looks cool and a little original, is not like harry potter`s movies, it have other story, in fact, the actors had a very good actuation, in harry potter and the prisioner of azcavan, the actors DOES NOT act very good, especcially Daniel Raddclife. SO.....DO NOT FORGET TO SEE THE a series of unfortunate events!!!!!!!!!!!!  , and the next harry potter`s movie is not so recomended by me. |
