There was definitely a topic like this a few weeks ago... Anyhoo, I've been a LotR fan for years - since I was about nine years old (and I'm 17 now.) Legolas is pretty cool, but he's also a bit of a brainless prettyboy.  There's nothing bad with this of course (he has my undivided attention when he's on the screen), but he's a bit too...shallow for my tastes. Elves are freakin' awesome, but I like characters to have a bit more personality. Granted, his character is fleshed out a lot more in the books (and the Gimli/Legolas hints are rampant.) deffinant LOTR fan freak here no favorite chracter though i dont really like legolas in the movie... i dont really like Orlando Bloom -ducks- but I LOVE the hobbits... but i think that Gimli pretty funny  |

lord of the ring? I think the move is okay, I haven't read the books, are they better than the movie? anyway, I like Frodo (Did I spell his name right?) more than Legolas... |

i don´t like it very much..and i think that i´m the only girl (almost) in my class who dosen´t think Legolas and frodo is..well..cute and hot and all that.. and almost the only one who dosen´t like Lotr so much..

to me Lord Of The Rings isn't about the movie.... well even though i got into it by seeing Lord Of The Rings, The Fellowship Of The Ring when i started actually reading the books i became obssed with it.... so its not really about if frodo aka Elijah Woods or legolas aka Orlando Bloom is cute or not.... to me its all about the cool world J.R. Toklein created... but personally i think Domonic Monaghan is cute:-[ aka Merry, wacth LOST he he..... |

Whether you like the movie better than the books depends on how well Tolkein's writing holds your attention. It really bored me, so I like the movie better. But not for the hot Elves\Hobbits\Future Kings Of Gondor. I liked it because it was cool. The first movie came out when I was twelve, and I never thought that Legolas or any one else was particualy desirable.
They cut a lot of stuff out of the movie, but I understand that. What I don't understand is why Faramir felt the need to take the Hobbits to Gondor. I have read the books, even though they bored me. He was only supposed to consider taking the ring for a second. There was no need to change it.

I liked the movie way better than the books, but am still reading the two towers.
And I'm more of an Aragorn and Faramir perverted fan than legolas XD.
