I don't know about the movie... but I read the book I, Robot. It's a good book, I think. Is the movie based off it?

I rented the movie, and it was OK. Don't know if I'd watch it again, though.

I have the movie on DVD at home, but only because my brother wanted it (he got it for Christmas). It had some pretty good special effects, but other than that it was an okay movie. Thankfully my brother doesn't like to watch it a whole lot.

am I the only one in the World that liked it Well, I mean it's good. Like I said, the visual effects were really great, but you know other than that, all this movie accumulates to is another cliche Hollywood action picture that'll soon be forgotten. But hey, to each his/her own, don't let our opinions bother you. If you like the movie, that's great! Everyone has different tastes.

I suppose as an "action movie" it was fine... but as a book-to-Movie version of I, Robot, it was hiiiiideous. It went against the grain of everything the books centered around: the idea that despite the fear the humans harbored, robots would not and could not harm humans (except for various tiny loopholes that never truely resulted in violence at all). If they'd wanted the "crazy deathmachine robot" plot anyway, they could've kept this loophole idea instead of incorporating... what was it... supermadcrazy computerbrain virus that must be destroyed at all cost blaaaaaaaaaarg. Or something like that. Oh, and book!Dr. Calvin is a 60-year old no-nonsense woman... her actress in the film made me laugh. A lot. ~_^ But it's to be expected really... Hollywood is YET to churn out a remotely decent Asimov movie. You'd think they'd learned their lesson by now. In fact, I think they're working on movie-fying Foundation at the moment... *shakes head sadly* ~Regan

I assumed as much. *sighs* I didn't go see it, since I rather not have my view of a good book tainted by some poorly done (plot-wise) movie. Then again, most book-to-film movies tend to turn out bad. Ever watched the movie for White Fang? Ugh.

Ever watched the movie for White Fang? Ugh. Actually, several book-to-film movies have turned out quite good. Such as Grapes of Wrath, Gone with the Wind, The Wizard of Oz, To Kill a Mockingbird, Frankenstein, Jurassic Park. And even some movies turned out better than the books. The Godfather, Star Wars, Shrek, etc.

Not to mention the Lord of the RIngs ;D I, Robot was pretty good, for a cliché Hollywood movie *was a Will Smith fan and never wanted to admit it *
