I've watched new episodes and world premiere of Megas XLR. the first ones I saw is Test Drive, The Fat and The Furious, Battle Royale and All I Wanted was a Slushie.
Those places and advertisement looks like from real things.
Pop TV is MTV, Slushie is a Slurpee, the W drive thru fast-food restaurant is the Mcdonald's, the dance station is Dance Dance Revolution and Para Para Paradise and the beginning of Battle Royale when Kiva, Coop and Jamie watching the bots fight is Battle Bots. Those guys made so many parodies of real stuff. This is a hilarious anime/western show ever. It's action and comedy. I wish I have Megas.

I saw the previews for Megas. It looked to me like it was going to be another lame, overly stereotyped anime wannabe. I've heard some people actually liked it though... but then again I've seen people praise Totally Spies, too.

How DID I miss this topic? As for Totally Spies, I loathe it.
I've seen only a couple of Megas episodes, just to see how much of an anime ripoff it would be. And guess what? I loved it every time. What on EARTH is wrong with me? I'm not usually a fan of mecha animes but I liked Megas. It actually made me laugh. It totally rips off an anime genre but not so much the style. (Okay, I kinda lied there. But it's not overdone like TS is.) Anyhoo, there's my two cents.
In conclusion: Good, but could be much better. Rips-off mecha animes. Aimed at an older audience. Watch it once and see if you like it. *shrugs*

Well, I don't want to offend Totally Spies fans, but I don't really like it that much and I'll give my reasons:
1. Really repetitive storylines. 2. Extremely exaggerated "anime" style art (okay, you may have heard that thing that anime characters have really small mouths when they're closed and really big mouths when they're open. That is WRONG, because many anime characters have small mouths open AND closed, but evidently, the makers of Totally Spies don't know this because everyone has extremely huge mouths whenever they're open, all the time). 3. The fact that Clover, Sam, and Alex are somehow specialists in martial arts and capable of jumping from heights of 20-30 feet without getting hurt, but no explanation is given. 4. I can't relate to any of the three main characters at all. Hello? Not all teenage girls are overtly boy-crazy, love to talk on phones, and are obssessed with the mall, but that's how all the girls are like in Totally Spies. 5. The show completely succumbs to all sorts of stereotypes, particularly girl stereotypes and evil villain stereotypes. 6. The art isn't very good. All the girls look similar. All the guys look similar. 7. The super-cheap weapons, especially the ice one, which turns anything into ice, thus allowing the Spies to shatter metal and stuff. Really realistic.
Actually, looking at the opinion's of the people on this board, I can't tell if Totally Spies was made to be a girl's show or a boy's show.

Not to be off Topic but I've seen Totalty Spies and i don't really like it. here is what Beverly Hills and LA really look like. This is the real Beverly Hills High School. As you can see they never seem to show the Century City District with all the Tall Buildings in back of the school. This is the real Beverly Center which they call "the Mall" As you can see it says Macy's and it says "bloomington" on the otherside, but in the show it says "kacy's". In one episode they showed Downtown LA and It looked nothing like the real Downtown! They just made a bunch of made up blue buildings and called it Downtown LA. But it's just a show. About Megas XLR I think it a funny show.

I don't really like those mecha animes, either.
But I actually like Megas. I got a good laugh out of most of the episodes. But I hav't to agree, it does sort of rip-off the anime genre.
As for Totally Spies? I despise it.

First of all, Patrick, you can't expect geographical accuracy in a work of fiction. Even stuff that is now considered classic gets stuff wrong (Spider-Man looks nothing like the real New York, for example, and Tarzan's Africa looks nothing like the real Africa). I'm not defending Totally Spies though. I think that show is the most vapid and heartless killer of braincells since Marvel Comics. As for Megas... I watched an episode, believe it or not. Personally I was disgusted. It was a typical comedy, which tries to be "funny" by having the main characters be a pair of complete doofwads. I got tired of this brand of humor when it was done in Beavis and Butt-head, Ren and Stimpy, Johnny Bravo, Spongebob, and about a gazillion other tired, brainless, cliched pieces of. bad comedy. Sorry to anyone who was offended by my criticisms, but I just can't stand those types of shows. One reason I like Kids Next Door is because it mostly AVOIDS the "Everyone is an idiot, so let's just have them all act stupid and be over with it" type of humor (though to be fair there are some episodes that degrade into that type of stuff, but they are few and far between and I hope the show never goes all-out on that route). Okay, I think I should shut up now. No doubt someone's gonna hate me for this post.... Me and my big mouth.... NUMBUH TWO: Hey James, you know what you'd be doing if you took the Spies out of Totally Spies? ME: No, what? NUMBUH TWO: You'd be de-SPIES-ing it! *Rolls over laughing* ME:

actually, mega's XLR is a pretty good show ^^ *you guys shouldn't be off topic before someone closes the topic* It's funny, espieially how that coop guy is always so stupit, but it's still an amercanized anime, but megas XLR is megas XLR and it's the only amercanized anime that i like.

What? The characters on Megas XLR aren't THAT stupid. Coop seems pretty intelligent to me. The only main character who's even close to stupid is Jamie, and he's not stupid, just obsessed with girls.
Megas XLR is pretty funny, too...my favorite was when a building was destroyed, and next to it was a sign saying "Conveniently empty building."

I only caught one episode--where the guys and that girl are flying around in space and they stumble upon that ancient library space station which has those metallic snake things all over it. But judging from that one, Coop and Jamie are pretty darn stupid. Coop ends up accidentally destroying the library (predictably) and Jamie is so vapid he accidentally knocks the girl out while trying to beat off snake things.

That's more a case of not paying attention.
