heya danielle! what a coincidence! i've been a fan of KND even BEFORE it came on TV! since we've got so much in common, let's answer some questions!
Q: Have there been characters that you feel were underused or you would have liked to see more of?
A: it's a sooper big world and everyone's got a million stories we could tell! we could go on forever!
Q: Where's Abby's older brother? I'm thinking France.
A: i'd think so, too.
Q: I'm not too fond of the cop-out "it was all just a dream/fantasy" endings for SITTER and SAFARI. I was really liking them until the end. I felt cheated. Like the writers came up with this really neat idea, then didn't know how to give it aproper ending. How do you defend yourself? (BTW I did like the end for WHITEHOUSE. It was cool!)
A: i usually defend myself with a pointed stick but i don't think those episodes need defending... i thought they were fun! c'mon! when numbuh one realized that numbuh four was swimming! sooper exciting stuff!
Q: Do you ever feel you're relying on movie references a bit too much?
A: movie references? what movie references?
Q: Where are KND trading cards sold? I haven't seen any in stores yet.
A: they're around, but not too many places. you can find them at various online sites.
Q: Now that Mo isn't working on the show anymore, is he able to read fanfics?
A: he was decommissioned so he doesn't remember what KND even is anymore!
Q: Was Nigel's dad into the Sousaphone back when he was in the KND? Or did thatcome up later in life?
A: i'd assume he learned when he was a child.
Q: How did Nigel's parents react when he lost his hair?
A: if they never notice that treehouse they probably don't notice his baldness.
Q: When you first started working on KND, did you have their universe all thoughtout or was it an evolving process?
A: it's always evolving! always...
Q: What tips would you give to an aspiring writer? I'd love to work on a show like this!
A: use deodorant. wait... i thought you said PERSPIRING writer. but the best advice i can give you is to write all the time. and when you're not writing... READ!
Q: How and when did you come up with the Toilenator? And while we're on the topic, why?
A: toiletnator was in one of the very first episodes (operation: NO-POWUH) as a throwaway villain (literally, since he got thrown in the stratosphere by the DCFDTL). who knew he'd become such a star!
Q: Is there a chance we'll get to see bloopers that the voice actors have made?Maybe on the Blog?
A: maybe one day... we'd have to dig them out from the session tapes.
Q: I read on another persons Q&A that you went through several voice actors for Nigel. Who were some of the other choices before you chose Ben?
A: well, i don't remember the first kid... but we tried tom kenny (spongebob, eduardo, jake spidermonkey, etc etc etc) after that. but he didn't sound young enough for numbuh one. although we still use him for TONS of characters like knightbrace, chester, numbuh 30C, etc.
Q: Since Nigel is related to Father and Grandfather, is there a possibility he inherited that spooky shadow form and some Soopa cool powers?
A: i guess he might have the genes for that.
