Well, I've FINALLY asked Mr Warburton a lot of questions (and I mean a lot) so here they are...
Q: The operation names and their acronyms always seem to suit the
episode perfectly. So when you create a new KND episode, what usually
comes first – the scenario, or the name of it?
A: the story comes first and then the name and then the acronym.
although, sometimes we change the name to get a better acronym!
Q: I’ve heard some characters are named after/based on real people.
Which ones (any examples)?
A: there are a number of background characters based on people from the
studio. pauly marcus (operation: elections) is based on production
manager marcus pauls.
Q: By any chance, is Tommy named after you?
A: not really...unless yo want him to be!
Q: Is it true that the Kids Next Door were originally gonna be
characters from “Kenny and the Chimp”?
A: yup. but they didn't fight adults and didn't have a treehouse.
Q: How long ago did you start work on KND or Kenny and the Chimp – was
it a long time before KND aired or did it happen quickly?
A: NOTHING happens quickly when you're developing a show. i started K&C
back in 1993! so therefore the KND are over 10 years old but have only
been on the air for 3.5! yikes!

Q: Have you ever thought of bringing Kenny and the Chimp into the cartoon?
A: i've though about it but it hasn't happened yet!
Q: If Kenny and the Chimp did come into it, would they be allies or
villains to the Kids Next Door?
A: probably innocent bystanders who get dragged in!
Q: Am I asking too many questions about Kenny and the Chimp?
A: the police called after getting a report of a 546 (too many questions
asked about kenny and the chimp) but i convinced them it was a false
alarm. you owe me one.
Q: If Numbuh Five was born in France, then what about Cree and their
older brother?
A: i assume they were born in france, too!
Q: Why is Hoagie’s middle name Pennywhistle?
A: i guess you'd have to ask his parents!
Q: What is Numbuh 362’s name?
A: we'll find out pretty soon!
Q: We know that one of the Delightful Children are called Lenny, but
what are the names of the other ones?
A: i hear we find that out soon, too!
Q: Some people say that the Sector V Treehouse is in Cleveland. Is that
right?
A: that's sooper triple ninjas hiding under the bed top secret information!
Q: Do you know roughly when season 6 and the movie Operations Z.E.R.O
will be airing in England?
A: i have no idea! they change things so much i barely know when it's on
in the US! but i DO know that ZERO is airing here august 11th! and
there's rumour going around that you'll be able to download it right
after it airs!
Q: I hear your codename is Numbuh Eleventy Billion. Have you, or are you
planning on making an appearance in the show with this codename one day?
A: hopefully one day! but i was designed as a background villain called
nogoodnik. i think i even got a couple scenes in ZERO!
Q: In Operation F.U.T.U.R.E when Numbuh One turns into a girl he looks a
lot like Lucy from the “Peanuts” comic strip. Was this deliberate?
A: yup.
Q: I hear that Operation M.A.U.R.I.C.E was made for Mo Willems when he
left the studio. Is the character Maurice based on Mo (e.g. does he look
like him)?
A: nope. maurice is young, handsome and dashing. mo is...um. ..well,
he's... a very good writer! (hee hee)
Q: There are a lot of characters in the show with the name “Maurice” –
one is a friend of Numbuh 2’s grandma, one is the former Numbuh 9, and
one was a random adult in Operation T.R.I.C.K.Y. How come you keep using
this name?
A: we have three maurice's who wok on the show so we made three maurices'
Q: Should I stop asking questions about characters called Maurice before
you go crazy?
A: too late...i'm crazy!
Q: When will we find out who Numbuh 86 is related to – in an episode on
in a movie?
A: okay...i'll just tell you. numbuh 86 is related to-
HALLE BERRY!
wait...that's not right.
Q: Will we ever find out the real name of “The Kid” from Operation
D.O.G.F.I.G.H.T?
A: maaaaaaaaybe...
Q: About the villain covered in toilet paper – is he called the
“Toilenator” or the “Toiletnator”?
A: toiletnator. even his name is lame.
Q: Once I heard rumours about a movie called Operation V.I.L.L.A.I.N.S –
is this the live-action one?
A: nope. no such thing!
Q: Who was the very first KND character you ever created?
A: they kinda happened all at once.
Q: On the KND site blog there’s a picture of Numbuh One with his butt on
fire, with a caption, “Who’s cooking hamburgers?” What episode is this from?
A: HOT-STUFF
