Well, Infinity? Are you just freaked out when I was commenting bad against JBL? Must be sarcasm. You just seem to take things *too* seriously.

I'm sure you've noticed that SAVE_US.222 vignette that has run on Raw and ECW this week. In what may be wrestling's worst-kept secret, it is widely believed that it will be the return of Chris Jericho. Facts that support this:
There is a "3-2-1" countdown that flashes quickly. One of the phrases that shows up a few times is "cd_volume4_1.act". On WWE's CD "WWE The Music: Volume 4", Track 1 is the theme music of .. Chris Jericho. With that in mind, the clip is somewhat similar to Chris Jericho's old entrance video.
The Book of Joshua, Chapter 2….Word 22…is JERICHO
- The phrase "7OCT" is repeated over and over on one frame. October 7th is the date of WWE's next PPV, No Mercy. If he does come back and takes the title off Cena, or Orton who would beat Cena, I could say he has saved us. Another explanation that has been thrown about is that it will be the debut of the New Hart Foundation. They debuted last night in FCW. Nattie Neidhart wasn't part of the group, which was comprised of Teddy Hart, Harry Smith, TJ Wilson, and Ted DiBiase Jr. I'd rather he debuts on his own, with some help from his father. Maybe he can feud with Cody Rhodes, since Ted and Dusty were rivals for a time.

Yeah, I saw the "mystery promos" myself. Something tells me WWE is just picking on the internet wrestling fans, though, and could be something else entirely.

And add to that the fact that Jericho likes to rib his fans himself, like when he had the TNA logo splashed across his website around the time Christian switched over.

Well Infinity, in reality, well, most of the time, I really have a hard time to identify truths and jokes most of the time. Anyway, Y2J is coming back? Hmm, interesting, I'll wait to see what's coming next afterwards. Thanks for telling us, WBTC.

As you may have heard, John Cena has been forced to vacate the WWE Title due to a torn pectorial muscle. He will be out of action anywhere from 6 months to a year. While he was not my favorite, and I was getting tired of his reign, I didn't like to see it end like this. There was always the question of where he would end up on the all-time list. Even though he was nowhere near Sammartino's record, he hadn't blown it yet. It's almost like wondering whether the '94 Expos would have won the Series if not for the strike. Anyway, there will be a title match at No Mercy to fill the vacant belt. Rather than rant about who I want, I have taken several people who may be considered, and weighed the pros and cons of each.
Chris Jericho PROS: If this is his comeback, there is no better way for him to do it. The reaction would be amazing, and we finally will have someone who will consistently give great matches and great promos. Someone interesting in the main event may once again turn around the fortunes of the WWE. He would be the major star who has indeed Saved WWE. CONS: If it's all just a ruse, those of us who would hold Y2J signs will look pretty foolish. Outside that, I can't think of anything bad that may come of this.
Randy Orton PROS: He's certainly built his reputation up to this point. He had the momentum going into the match, and has an incredible amount of heat. He has the persona and the in ring ability to make fans love to hate him. His win would be booked well, unlike his rushed win in 2004. CONS: Again, not many. Hopefully, any out of ring problems are canned by now, and Wellness violations won't crop up.
Mr. Kennedy PROS: His return was much anticipated by his fans. Love him or hate him, he gets fans talking. He's got a loyal fan base with one half of the fans, and the other half wants to see him strung up. Insta-heat, and the best new sensation to get a shot. Ring skills and mic skills are both up to the task. CONS: Having just returned from a Wellness violation, WWE may not want to immediately start rewarding him.
Jeff Hardy PROS: He may very well be the most over guy on Raw, with the possible exception of HHH. I didn't have a chance to praise his 6-man tag where he teamed with Londrick against Shelton, Cade, & Murdoch last night. Great match, made more impressive by London's shooting star press and Jeff's Swanton, the latter even more so by the fact that his opponent was too close and he had almost no room to do it, and had to hit it almost vertically. Fans have always wanted him to be the go-to guy, and this could be his chance. CONS: He's already the IC champ, and they probably won't want him holding 2 singles titles, unless he vacates the IC or drops it beforehand. He's had wellness and maturity issues before, and may be considered unreliable. Mic skills are nothing stellar.
Triple H PROS: The definitive superstar of Raw, and probably WWE as a whole. The best in-ring ability on all of Raw, and great, great mic skills as well. Fans have pegged him as the one who should save WWE from Cena. CONS: Already has a match with Umaga. The IWC may love him now, but once he wins, they may change their tune and once again accuse him of nepotism.
Umaga PROS: Dominant-looking heel billed as a credible threat. CONS: Already has a match with HHH. Has Wellness strike against him. In-ring improvement has bolstered him from green to dark yellow. Is not supposed to speak English, so promos may be sub-par to say the least. Is rumored to be headed to Smackdown in exchange for Mark Henry.
Mark Henry PROS: Is rumored to be headed to Raw in exchange for Umaga. CONS: The collective stampede and riots of the IWC and even some marks may cost many, many lives.
Shawn Michaels PROS: Has always been a clutch guy in dire situations. Makes everyone around him better. CONS: Nowhere near ready to return from injury. He is also considering giving up wrestling to dedicate more time to his religion and his family.
Ric Flair PROS: He is set to retire next year, so one last title win can help send him off with good relations. CONS: Is now on Smackdown. May be nothing more than a transitional champion.
Carlito PROS: Loads of potential. He may be ready to rise to the next level. CONS: WWE hasn't seriously pushed him yet. Though his stint as Mr. McMahon's yes-man may change that in the future.
Teddy Hart/Harry Smith/TJ Wilson/Ted DiBiase Jr. PROS: Great way for the New Hart Foundation and/or DiBiase Jr. to debut. CONS: New Hart Foundation will supposedly debut on Smackdown. WWE wouldn't want an unknown winning the title in their first appearance. Teddy has been known to have an attitude problem.
John Morrison PROS: Wasn't he supposed to come back to ECW tonight? His new gimmick has dramatically improved his mic skills, and his ring skills are some of the best in WWE. He's ready to come back to the big time. CONS: Will likely stay on ECW. Has a Wellness strike against him.
Oh, and on ECW tonight, Tommy Dreamer eliminated Elijah Burke in the finals of the title chase, but Estrada said he had to wrestle Big Daddy V, who squashed him and became #1 contender for Punk. Surely Punk will put Big Daddy Manboobs out of sight and move on to real competition, right? Right?!?

Aww man, I want his reign to continue so he can beat Gregory Helms and JBL's records. Anyway, as for those pros and cons, let me comment : 1. Chris Jericho : If it's just a rumor, it'll remain a rumor. But not sure about this. 2. Shawn Michaels : Well, with those concussions back there, it's really hurtful. I'm going to miss him, just let him dedicate his life to his family instead. 3. Ric Flair : I know, he's already getting old and tired since Hulk Hogan. He'll be just another hall of famer. 4. RVD : Like Shawn Michaels, I wonder how is he going?

Surely Punk will put Big Daddy Manboobs out of sight and move on to real competition, right? Right?!? And since when was Big Daddy V in the elimination competition anyway? All that build up and they spring this on us at the very last minute. I get the feeling WWE did this on purpose to piss off the internet wrestling fans.

As much of a ripoff as that is, I was kind of expecting it. They were building up V for some time, with his squash of the Boogeyman and his beatdown of Punk that it pretty much sealed it. Stevie wasn't going to get the spot, Thorn may be off the road for a while as his wife recently gave birth to his son, and I was actually surprised it looked like they were originally going to go with face vs. face against Dreamer. Though Burke could've had one last shot at him. As long as V doesn't win the belt, it won't be too bad. And luckily, I don't think he will. From what I hear, they want to give it back to John Morrison in the not too distant future. TNA had its first 2-hour show tonight. It started off with Rhino beating Black Reign after Raven tried to interfere but miscommunication cost Blackdust the match. James Mitchell apparently recruited them to go after Rhino and Abyss (i.e. take people's minds off the fact that Mesias is injured). Now THAT's a stable. Also throw in Havok (Johnny Devine), and you have an awesome heel faction. Reign, Raven, and Havok continue the beatdown until Sting makes the save. Angle interrupts him on the Titantron from Sting's hometown in California, where he's at Sting's son's high school football game. Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt are interviewed backstage. They are in the middle of cutting a pretty funny promo before they are attacked by Team 3D and beaten down to ringside. Shark Boy tries to make the save in a neckbrace, but needless to say he doesn't last long and gets put through a table. 3D demands their match against Team Pacman becomes a title match. Sting storms into the production truck, gets hooked up to the satellite feed with Angle, and threatens to kill him if he goes after his son. After the commercial, Cornette says the tag match will indeed be for the titles. Sting storms in, watches more of Angle on Cornette's monitor, and destroys the screen in a rage. Robert Roode and Ms. Brooks hold a press conference, where dissention is further emphasized. From what I gathered, Ms. Brooks' mother is sick, and working for Roode is the only way she can pay for her medical coverage, hence she can't quit. Gail Kim beats Jackie Moore. Christy Hemme and Roxxy Laveaux (sp?) got involved, and beat down Gail after the match before attacking each other. As a side note, I'm throwing some quarters down the wishing well that Jenny Taylor will be one of the women in the match at Bound for Glory. Team Pacman (now faces) beat Team 3D by disqualification when VKM (now heels) attack Killings outside. 3D continues their assault until the returning Steiner Brothers make the save. This would be a dream match if these teams weren't 5 (3D) or 15 (Steiners) years past their primes. Raven gives a great interview where he says he is waiting for the top guys to kill each other off before he swoops in like a vulture. He directs some words at Rhino and Abyss, the latter comes in and suggests he get Black Reign for a Monster's Ball. Reign takes the place of Samoa Joe, but the other 3 were all in last year's. Abyss and Rhino were also in the Monsters Ball the year before that. Some more Angle vignettes throughout the night, where he talks with parents and cheerleaders (insert Jerry Lawler joke here). Eric Young wins a gauntlet-style battle royal, last eliminating James Storm. Guess the Motor City Machine Guns are faces now (I need a freakin' abacus to keep track). Sabin's heel turn worked real well. Also notable for the first appearance in a long time of Petey Williams. I had wondered if he had left the company. Angle says he will give Sting's son a friendly slap on the ass (I have no joke for this. Create your own), nothing like the slap Sting gave Karen. Main event saw Samoa Joe, Junior Fatu, and (face) LAX beat Christian, AJ, and XXX (Senshi and Daniels. Uh, wouldn't it make more sense to have Elix in the match since that's the combination that will be in Ultimate X at BFG?). Shortly before the match, Tomko said he was leaving for Japan to defend the IWGP tag title (so that's what that belt is). AJ was about to leave with him and abandon his team until Christian pulled him back into the arena. Slick spotfest that saw Joe hit the musclebuster on Senshi to win the match for the faces. Angle runs after Sting's son in the parking lot, who low blows Kurt with the car door, but can't get away in time. Angle drags him out of the car window, and says he'll leave the rest to Sting's imagination. He knocks down the camera, as Sting is shown watching the monitor as the show draws to a close.

Smackdown notes and No Mercy Results: Ace Steel gets his big break and debuts! Well, he was just enhancement talent for Chuck Palumbo to squash and knock around. Palumbo himself was then attacked by the returning Chris Masters, whose suspension did nothing to get him off the roids. Jesse and Festus had their first match against a pair of jobbers. I have been ripping on the gimmick since I first saw it, but these guys are actually not bad. Jesse in particular is very athletic and pulled out some nice moves. Festus snaps into a psychotic madman once the bell rings. Though that gimmick is better for a heel. Like when Waylon Mercy had it all those years ago. Or, Festus' original gimmick (besides being the fake Kane) in DSW as the Freakin' Deacon, a crazed homeless guy who would snap at the sound of the bell. Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised. Only I wish their ring gear was a little more rustic/hillbilly-like. No Mercy: Vince says he is going to give the fans what they want. The fans start chanting "Y2J", and Vince says he won't give them that. He gives them the new WWE Champion: Randy Orton. Regal says Orton still has to defend the belt, but Orton can select his own opponent. HHH comes out and demands the title shot, but Orton refuses. HHH then calls Vince a coward, who then sanctions the match, which begins immediately. HHH gets a rollup and becomes WWE Champion for the 6th time! Kennedy, Cade & Murdoch beat Jeff Hardy, London & Kendrick when Kennedy catches London and gives him the Green Bay Plunge. Very fast-paced match, and a little pick-me-up for those who wanted these guys to get on the card. Punk beat Big Daddy V by DQ when Striker interfered. Not much to this match, and a beatdown followed. Matt Hardy beat MVP in a pizza eating contest. Matt ate 2 pies, then channels Droz and pukes on MVP. Jeff gets an awesome 6-man tag (even though they lost), and Matt vomits on PPV. HHH vs. Umaga is now for the championship. Hunter wins and retains after a short but decent match. Rey vs. Finlay went to a no contest when Finlay crashed on his head, and EMT's had to come out and put him in a neck brace and stretcher him out. Finlay then gets off the stretcher, having faked the injury, and beats down Rey. Beth beat Candice to become Women's Champion. Alright! Batista beat Khali in the Punjabi Prison to retain the World Title. The gimmick was able to somewhat disguise their lack of talent. I was impressed that Khali was actually able to climb those structures. Orton gets another shot at HHH, this time in a Last Man Standing match. Cables, chairs, steps, and the ECW table come into play. HHH is dripping with blood. HHH gets RKO'ed onto a table, then can't answer the 10-count, so Orton wins the title back! Bah, no Jericho tonight.

As for No Mercy, yeehaa! The 1st match now become HHH's night. 2nd match : No good! 3rd match : Nothing for me. 4th match : Eww. 5th match : Yes, the game is really back for good. For revenge since HBK's downfall. 6th match : What a fake! No good! Still, no thanks to JBL in the first place. 7th match : Hmm, just a regular women's match. I'm expecting something better, especially for the boys. "Bra and Panties" and "Lingerie" matches! 8th match : Yes, the Animal won. Nice! 9th match : Aww man, no good, retain the title. Bah! Good night at first, now turns bad in the ending. Me too, I felt pissed off when there's no Jericho either. At least this night is better than this year's worse Vengeance night.

More big news tonight: HBK returns!!! I guess he recovered faster than expected, and the reports of him retiring were either false, or he changed his mind. Still, he didn't get quite as big an ovation as I expected, until he hit Sweet Chin Music on Orton, and I was baffled by his look, as he has a full beard, and looks to be something of a cross between Skinner (WBTC obscure wrestling reference #714) and a hobo. They started the build towards Cyber Sunday. It will be Orton vs. HHH in HIAC (my choice), No DQ, or Falls Count Anywhere. On Rajah, it is reported that Smackdown's World Title will be a 4-way between Batista, Rey, Khali, and Finlay with the choice of refs being JBL, Foley, or Austin (my likely choice). Piper was originally advertised instead of JBL, so I'm hoping he didn't have to pull out because of his health. Santino had some funny moments tonight ripping on Austin and The Condemned. It looks like a possible confrontation with Stone Cold, but Austin recently said he's done wrestling and will focus on an acting career. Santino was supposed to wrestle Val Venis tonight, but backed out and fed Val to a returning Snitsky. Jeff Hardy beat Kennedy in a good match with a great finish. Also, the Highlanders beat Londrick due to the feet on the ropes, and HHH beat Umaga and Orton by DQ, but it was a mauling from the heels.
