Fandom Doubts

I hope it's okay if I started this thread. But I've been awfully curious lately. Seeing these latest episodes, there are quite a few interactions that haven't occured lately. I'm not going to name some, because I could be wrong.

To be completely honest, I have doubts about some of the couples I like. I don't think they're totally impossible, cause otherwise, I wouldn't like them. But hopefully, you guys know what I mean.

My real question is: What do you guys think about the couple(s) you ship?

1) Do you totally believe it can happen?
2) Do you have your small doubts, but still have faith that it's possible?
3)Or do you know that it's impossible but ship it for the heck of it?

I have a feeling #2 is almost everybody's choice. I don't want to sound like a teacher, but be sure to explain. XD I want to know what you guys think.

I'm all three. ;D In fact, some ships are both 1 AND 2, or 2 and 3.

2/86 is #3. 5/H is #2. 1/L and 3/4 are #1.

Wink/Fibb doesn't make the list because they're already living together.

But yes, I do have my doubts. Particularly about 5/H lately. Went through a big thing about it, since I obsess like that, but have come to terms and no matter what happens, I'll still ship the hell out of it.

I always go down with my ships. Ain't a damn thing that will change that.

Choice 2 for me. I have no idea whether 2/5 will happen or not, and if doesn't, it isn't the end of the world.

I didn't start watching the show for romance. I was hooked by the characters and the plots.

But I'm weird like that. ;D

I'm so glad to see you and others are still going with 1/Lizzie. I know a bunch of people off the forum (there are probably some people on the forum as well) who are so thrilled that Nigel and Lizzie.. you know. And some old 1/Lizzie fans have turned away from it. It's sad.

I think crack couples are neat, but I never like to mention the same one more than one or two times. For me, if I bring it up too often, I lose interest and don't find it amusing anymore. But that's just me.

My crack couples are more an amusing tool for creating jealousy and comedic situations.

God knows 2/Lizzie wouldn't last, even if Nigel wasn't there.

This is an interesting subject. I have to admit, for a while I was more than 50% sure that 5/Heinrich would happen. But after we heard... you know... then... yeah.

So... if that's all true it ain't gonna happen!

Another couple I like is 1/362 but more in the way of how they interact rather than them actually getting together. So in that respect Operation IT was enough 1/362 for me. It had all I wanted to see from them, so I was happy. It's kinda funny to think about though, but I still have suspicions about 362 (and 86 for that matter) with the whole thing that happened in GIRLFRIEND - I've explained more about my theories on this on the episode thread (I want to avoid giving spoilers here so I won't repeat it on this thread).

I'm wondering about 2/5, since I actually think that out of my fave couples it could be the most likely out of them now. I still think there's a slim chance it'll happen. I mean, I love the whole irony thing behind 2/5 (you know, with the whole 2/Cree/Maurice/5 love square thing, and the fact that they're always the ones teasing Wally about his feelings for Kuki) and I think some really entertaining stuff could happen in the show if they actually hook up. But the fact is there's already a romance within Sector V and I don't think they would have more than one couple within the sector. It might just seem a little too much.

*laughs* Hmm... admittedly Sector CP seem to get away with anything these days...
If it is true though, I still think there could be another twist and it turns out nothing actually happened to Heinrich, but we're just supposed to think that at the moment. From what I've heard, it wasn't actually confirmed, it was just obvious that it's what we should assume. In which case 5/Heinrich still has a chance (although for some reason I expected them to get together in CARAMEL if they were gonna hook up at some point - that's just my guess though so don't worry!).

I just realised, I forgot to mention Leona/19th Century - which I always thought was a good idea because they're both kids that are over a hundred of years old. Okay, I'm messing around. It was the first crack couple I ever came up with and so I stuck to it all this time. Not because it'll happen, just because I think it's amusing.

It's definitely possible that one or two completely random and crazy crack couples could happen by the end of the show (hey, there was already one incident in a recent episode!).

Not like anyone would be surprised by it. But I would be able to mark something off on my list of Stuff That Would Make My Life.

I agree with Suki on 1/L and 3/4. Although I'm not as rabid a 3/4 shipper as I was when I joined the fandom, I don't think Mr. W would put THAT many hints of a couple without it culminating into something.

And as for 1/Lizzie...GIRLFRIEND or no GIRLFRIEND, I stand by these two. They've been through too much to be seperate forever. (Would you be able to forget about a guy that saved you from a crazed fourth grade president, and still stuck by you even when you went completely nuts?)

Both of my main Abby ships, 2/5 and 5/H, don't look 100% possible. 2/5 still doesn't have completely solid, 3/4-esque proof, and we all know about the CARAMEL spoiler right now.

BUT I still like them. I still have faith in them. CARAMEL still hasn't aired in the U.S., so 5/H still clings on to possibility (and if the spoiler is right...hey, nothing wrong with a little crack couple, right?). And I still have a big soft spot for 2/5. Maybe it's because I like Hoagie, or maybe I still have a thing for the humorous interactions between 5 and 2. (Or maybe it's because I've become a big Firefly fan, and, as certain Samurai have already pointed out, Hoagie and Abby are SO like Wash and Zoe...)

3. Know that it's impossible but ship it for the heck of it

Biggest example of this is 86/362. What can I say? I like their interaction already, and they just don't fit with any of the guys, if you ask me. (86/19th Century was cute, but it was just the KND version of a one-night stand) I'll stick by this pair, thank you.

As for other couples...Wink/Fibb, as Suki has constantly pointed out, is practically canon...I get a giddy smile on my face from the thought of Mr. Boss/Toilenator and/or Grandma Gilligan/Spankulot...and ZERO got me hooked onto the prospect of 1/2. (Or maybe 1/2/4. With all the boys fighting over each other, and no clear center of the love triangle.)

i would explain mine....but i dont wanna all i know is i go for the last two reasons...i mean, i like 3/4, but im not a fan *ducks in case of a brick*
