Because of the topics of the most popular communities. "The Potty Training Moms Support Group" (No thank you! This group has over 6000 members? HOW? What could be less interesting to talk about than your baby's body waste? ) "Sex Tips" (6000+ members) and "Warning--Adult Content (1300+ members). YIKES is all I have to say. "Bring My Sexy Back!" This has 500+ members. Again...eek. "Children of the Eighties!" I was a preteen/teen in those years, and I'm NOT interested in looking back on those fads, kthx. "Conservative Republicans" The perfect Cafe Mom hangout for FF. ;D "Cutest Baby Contest" No...just no. "Married Sex" I have NO interest in discussing this with other women. Blech! "Scrapbooking Mommies" Scrapbooking gets boring after a while. "Preschooler Moms", "Toddler Moms", "Moms of 2006, 2005, etc. babies"...I want to talk about something BESIDES my kids... There were only two groups that looked interesting...one was a ghost group, and the other one was about "kitchen witches". ;D

Meh, so long as I'm not dragged into talking about pull-ups, George Bush, or special wavy scissors for cutting colored paper for scrapbooks, I'm fine. At least I don't have to listen to their silliness.
So, have fun with your sex tips, mommies.

A group on sex tips? I thought that's what romance novels were for.

Uh, I don't think they're being fasecious in that one, MHG. That looks like it's for actual practicers of the Wicca religion.
Speaking as a former member, ya dun wanna get into that (no offense to anyone who is currently part of the Wicca religion).

Why? Will energies that I don't necessarily want come down on me...or something like that?

Gah, I hate being so nosy. But I wanna know about the Wicca stuff (rather, what Suki didn't like about it) now, too.

Just to say- I understand the 'The Potty Training Moms Support Group' because, as I'm sure you know, potty training can get frustrating and, well, disgusting. If I was a mom and having trouble with it, I'd like to see if there were any tried-and-true methods to make it easier. That's just me.
About Wicca- a friend from my fencing class took it up and said the 'spells' she tried worked, but to be honest I didn't believe her. I don't want to get into a debate about it or anything (because since its a religion thing, I imagine a debate might get heated fast), but my friend's story sounded shaky anyway, and I'm naturally skeptical.

My stance on Wicca is no better and no worse than of most other religions i.e. healthy dislike coupled with a barely-suppressed desire to point and laugh. A little less of the former and more of the latter in this case, truth be told.
However if casting spells is what it takes to get you trough the day, then, by all means, ensorcell to your heart's content.
Also, Suki three points:
1) There's no need to self-censor as I don't recall religion being an explicitly verbotten subject.
2) I commend your diligence at avoiding offtopicness and a potentially sticky situation all the same.
3) Can I please have the relevant PM? I'm a nosy sort, me. .

Why .

Well, I didn't keep a copy of it, but I'll give MadameHoagie'sGal the authority to release it to Numbuh0xFF and Cap'n Veg, on the condition that none of the above redistribute it without my consent.
Yeah... I just got out of a business law test.
