Well, it's not that they (well actually we) can't accept the couple or anything like that. Just that they (we, sorry) just perfer another couple that is just blocked because of 1/Lizzie. We understand that 1/Lizzie is canon. It just that there is another couple perfered over it. *cough* 1/5 *cough*

And, while it's one thing to prefer one couple to another, saying that a certain pairing is "blocked" by another is a bit..strange. I mean, while it's technically true in the sense that, while One and Lizzie are together, One and Five are an impossibility, you have to remember that even if they weren't together, that doesn't automatically mean 1/5 will be. Saying a certain pairing "blocks" another, to me, sounds like we're sort of "de-humanizing" the characters....like trying to break up a happy couple because someone feels one of them would "go better" with someone else, regardless of how the person in question feels (this is an example, mind you, of what I'm trying to say, not a direct reference). |

( Once again, I'm not so good with explanations) I'm not sure on whether that statement was directed to me or not, but I do see your point. Though I must ask for my own reputation's sake; does it seem like I bash couples? I've never really intended to do so. gabbie: Well it's not as if we're able to do anything about the couples on the show or anything. And I must say, I would actually be rather disappointed if Numbuh 1 broke up with Lizzie anytime soon. It's just a matter of opinion, not critisism or unnecessary bashing. |

No, you don't bash, but you tend to disregard couples. See gabbie's post - that's how I feel. 1/Lizzie isn't "blocking" another couple. Nigel and Lizzie really like one another. Don't vilify Lizzie for being in a relationship with Nigel because your pairing choice isn't canon.

Oh, sorry about that *blush* I didn't necessarely mean 'blocking'. I guess that's not an appropriate word for it. But all I'm saying is that we're 1/5 fans, and we like 1/5. Right? So 1/Lizzie is canon. There's nothing we can really do anyway. I'm not disregarding 1/Lizzie; I know clearly of its state and everything. I just perfer 1/5 over 1/Lizzie. It's like 2/5 and 2/Cree. Do you like the fact that Numbuh 2 has a crush on Cree? (Not a very good example, but I don't know any others).
I'll try and regard couples more.

I actually do like the fact that Hoagie has a crush on Cree--I find it really very cute. I mean, although I support 2/5, I know that, if it happens at all, it's not going to happen all that once. 10-year old boys are prone to getting crushes on older women (at least, that's what I've noticed), and as they slowly get over said crushes, they're more likely to notice girls their own age.
...okay, that got a bit off-topic. So! I think my point here was that it's definately okay to like non-canon pairings as long as you regard the fact that it might not happen, especially if the people in said pairing are currently in a relationship with someone else. Crushes and dating are two pretty seperate ball-parks ;D

Um, yes, I think that 2/Cree is cute. Realisticly though, it probably won't happen - Cree is about 6 years older than Hoagie, and it's pretty rare that someone would fall for their younger sister's friend when the age-difference is that relevent. Also, most little boys will have crushes on older women at some point in their life. (My mom teaches kindergarten and i have been the recipient of many such crushes.) They're harmless crushes and very cute.
Edit: PFFT. Gabbie and I posted the same thing at nearly the same time. XD

Numbuh 1 is best with the girl HE chooses and that would be Lizzie. Not much more to say. We can prevaricate for days on who Numbuh 5 would go best with because she hasn't stated her preferences in a clear and unambiguous manner, Numbuh 1 has, on the other hand, and that's all there is to it.
