@whazurface Wow, love the Hoagieness! ;D unifilarHow about we put a Unifilar vs 0xFF thread in the other forum? That way you two can carry on your traditions and we won't get in the way!

Nah. We did that. Just check Tales Of The United in the Campfire section. I'm just waiting for Unifilar to finish the last part and then we can have a reckoning.

*walks in with hair sticking out in 8937 different directions and clothes all torn* Whew, we finally won the battle. I'm really exhausted... Two out of the nine tests have been checked and the scores were given and--
*looks frantically around* What happened?! New renovation, eh? --------- Gawsh, I feel like I'm going to miss old original 2/5 Thread. *weeps* Th-there's no possible cure for the virus that attacked it... man, what a way to end one's life. Uh...
At least it got resurrected somehow! ^^;
@re: 100 page limit: I agree with that! But, with OUR posting speed, we might flood the entire romance board with new threads every 2 months or so. Wow.
@re: glitches Yeah, quite reasonable. But the fact that it hits OUR thread everytime makes me have second thoughts. I wonder...
Oh well, at least we are still strong. ;D

I think the reason why it was our thread was because there was a glitch specifically in that thread. There are campfire stories that have gone on for more pages and they haven't gone wrong.

Agreed. I'm thinking there's an anomalous post somewhere which triggered the whole thing. The archive every 100 pages thing ought to keep us from any such problems again. This is a solution I've seen on many forums: apparently long threads easily choke most forum systems.

Hmm... I'm still going for the length part of the problem. Just like any human being, perhaps the storage system can't handle too much work. See, this forum's kinda aged, there are a buhmillion topics and eleventy hundred threads PLUS the several boards and of course, the thousand members. I think all these files' memory got way beyond the memory limit allocated per Proboard forum. Where the storage system has no other choice but to delete other random posts to make room for newer posts. *a big SIGH*
Oh well, that's it for now, still to wake up early tomorrow.

I'm thinking the glitch hit our thread because it's active. Some of those 500 and 600 page roleplays died out a while ago, so that's why they didn't lose any posts.
Or the Killer Wasp Demons of Ix just decided to target us because we're all that.
;D
EDIT: CAG, have a blast at Hershey Park!
We went there last year, and we're going again this year, the first week in October. (Yup, we're camping again, at a site a few miles away from the park. The last site we camped at was beautiful--but it was 25 miles away!!!)

I think it's the activity and extreme age of the thread that did us in. It's not a strictly memory issue, though it could be, I think it's merely a very obscure bug we found by pushing the system to it's outter limits.

We won't flood the board if we put our 'used-up' threads in the Archive Board which is intended for just such a purpose. In fact I may work with my moddish colleagues and make it a forum-wide guideline: to keep others from suffering as we have done.
In other news LICORICE is teh awesome. ;D

Hello there every peoples! I'm still agreeing with the whole "100 pages" thing, so i'll just leave that alone. But i DO have to say:
Tomorrow until Thursday, I'm going to be in Oklahoma. I MIGHT be on if A. My mom lets me bring my laptop, or B. I have enough non-relatives-fawning-over-me time to get on their computer. So... I highly doubt I'll be here for a while. Sssssssssssssssssssso fill me in when I get back, okay?
I'll be here today, but i have to do laundry... so yeah...

Yeah, have fun, KCG!! ;D Uh... when I said that I meant have fun in Oklahoma, but if you can have fun doing the laundry then... that's a bonus I guess! So... 100 pages it is then?
